    Mike's Obituary

Sue....thanks so much for sharing this beautiful tribute to Mike with us. We always seem to learn so much about people from their obituaries. From reading Mike's obituary, I can tell what an impact he had on his community and his family. I already knew what a wonderful wife he had!!!

  6. Little Nicky was staying with his Grandmother for a few days. He'd been playing outside with the other kids for a while and when he came into the house he asked her "Grandma, what is that thing called when people are sleeping on top of each other?" She was a little taken aback but decided that her responsibility was to tell him the truth..."It's called sexual intercourse, darling." Little Nicky just said, "Oh. O K" and went back outside to play with the other kids. A few minutes later he came in and announced to Grandma, "It is NOT called sexual intercourse; it is called bunk beds."

    My husband is gone

Karen, I am so very sorry for your loss. PM me if you need to talk.
  10. Puppy kisses...even the wet slobbery ones!!!
  11. What never fails to cheer you up????
  12. Peggy, just when we think we have crossed all the hurdles and are beginning to heal a little, these things happen. I had this happen to me a lot and would have the same reaction that you have been having. Finally, I sat down at the computer and wrote a generic letter stating that my information had changed and requested this information be placed in my files. I then sent a copy of that letter to everyone I could think of that would need my information. That seemed to take care of the problem fairly well. It isn't a fix-all, as I still get mail from time-to-time, addressed to Dennis and his plumbing company. Opening the mailbox on those days really gets to me. So sorry you are hurting!!!!
  13. It's been a couple of days since I talked with Karen and things were status quo at that time. All of the family did make it in and Ken was holding his own. I will give her a call at lunchtime and let everyone know how things are. On Karen's behalf, please allow me to thank all of your for your prayers and concerns.
  14. Oh Sue, I am heart broken to hear of Mike's passing. I will be here for you anytime you need me. You are in my prayers through this. I know how you are hurting.
  15. Would you (or have you) take time off from work to care for a sick pet? Is (was) your boss understanding about this or did you have to tell a little white lie and say it was you that was sick?
  16. Would you take time off from work to care for one of your pets if they were ill? Do you (or did you) have a boss that would understand this or would you have to tell a little white lie to take time off?

    Dreaming of Dad

I had these crazy, mixed up dreams for about three months after Dennis died. Nothing in the dreams seemed to make sense but they were all sad. I would wake up completely drained, as if I had really lived through all of these terrible things. Most of them involved Dennis' illness and treatment. I think this was just my mind not being able to stop thinking about treatment and the illness. Rest assured that the bad dreams will soon turn into beautiful ones!!!
