Tina, thank you for sharing this with us. What a wonderful lady your mother was and it sounds as if she had a very exciting and fulfilling life.

I will be coloring eggs for Ella and Jude. Although I'm going to use the plastic eggs for hiding, Nana will have to have some of the "real things" for peeling and eating. At 2-1/2, Ella has become very opinionated about her choice of colors and has decided that her favorite color is purple. She told me she wants all of her eggs to be colored purple. So, I bought extra dye to make sure I have enough purple.

It's not only Good Friday...it's happy, yahoo Friday. This week has been really long for me and I have been thinking Friday ever since the alarm clock went off on Monday morning. Although this will be a very busy weekend for me, I'm just glad I'm not at work. I think I'm getting to that "I need a vacation" frame of mind. We're having an Easter Egg Hunt/Party at our American Legion Post tomorrow for children that are in need this year. We have about 40 little ones coming. We met last night and boiled dozens and dozens of eggs for the little ones to color tomorrow. I'm cooking for my family and several friends on Sunday. I still have grocery shopping and house cleaning to do before Sunday...so...it looks like this weekend won't be relaxing, to say the least. I know any special days are very hard for those of us that have lost loved ones, so I pray everyone has a blessed Easter. So....for now....let's be happy that it's finally ............

Not to worry, Katie. You should know we would never forget you. Besides, if we're leaving Key West and heading toward Hawaii.....we'd have to pass through Texas....lol!!!

Yes, I have walked out of a movie. I can't remember the name of the movie but it was a few years ago and was something I definitely should have looked at the previews first. I got a strong clue when I walked in the theater and it was filled with college aged kids. Funny for them but I just didn't get it.

Oh yes, Judy!!! Let's do be naughty and storm the beach! I haven't done anything "illegal" in years. Do you think the Key West jail could hold us all??? The sound of being in jail sounds terrible but....if we're all together....I'm sure we could make a party out of it. Just think of the publicity we could get for the board.

Hawaii sounds wonderful to me. I'm sure Becky Snowflake can make that bus float, as she's quite a creative soul!!! I am so excited about a long bus trip with all of you guys. Just what we need to out of the winter blues!!!

It's a beautiful day here on the Space Coast. If I had a magic wand, I'd wave it about and make today Friday. This week has really been dragging on at work and I can't wait for it to be over. I hope my grandchildren are as excited about the Easter Bunny as their Nana is. Last year, Ella was able to hunt eggs but didn't have a clue why and Jude was just a wee little baby. Have you ever gotten up and walked out of a movie, just because you hated the movie?

Cool, sunny day here on Florida's Space Coast. IT was really chilly when I went outside this morning. It was one of those mornings that I wanted my car heater to work fast. I had my eye exam on Saturday and have been all fired up since then. The so called "eyeglass superstore" tried to take me to the cleaners and empty my pockets on the way!!! I stormed out of the store and finally today, ordered glasses from another store. How frustrating!!! So....that was the high point of my day. Hope everyone is having a nice day!!!!

Becky Snowflake....you better not forget me on this trip. You can definitely pick me up on the way to Key West. Larry's Wife would be just about an hour north of me. Muriel isn't far from us, either. Oh....this is going to be such fun!!! Only one problem...us Florida gals won't be on the bus long enough if we're just going to Key West. Where's the bus headed after we leave the Keys????

Today is not much of a spring-like day here in Florida. Although it's sunny, it's so very windy and the temp is in the 60's. It's supposed to drop into the 40's tonight. Our weather has been very odd here this winter and I guess it's staying with us for a bit. I have a meeting after work, so I had to grab a jacket to bring with me. I got my eye exam on Saturday and have been going nuts shopping for glasses. Progressive lenses are so expensive!! I'm thinking of getting two pairs of single lenses and just switching from reading to distance glasses.

I know the band name would be " The Stitches of Time" but I have to think about what my name would me.

Yesterday I went to the doctor for my yearly physical. My blood pressure was high, my cholesterol was high, I'd gained some weight, and I didn't feel so hot. My doctor said eating right doesn't have to be complicated and it would solve my physical problems. He said just think in colors... Fill your plate with bright colors... greens, yellows, reds, etc. And sure enough, I felt better immediately. I never knew eating right could be so easy.

The FBI had an opening for an assassin. After all the background checks, interviews and testing were done, there were 3 finalists: Two men and a woman. For the final test, the FBI agents took one of The men to a large metal door and handed Him a gun. 'We must know that you will follow your Instructions no matter what the circumstances. Inside the room you will find your wife sitting In a chair .. . . Kill her!!' The man said, 'You can't be serious. I could Never shoot my wife.' The agent said, 'Then you're not the right man For this job. Take your wife and go home.' The second man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went into the room. All was Quiet for about 5 minutes. The man came out with tears in his eyes, 'I tried, But I can't kill my wife.' The agent said, 'You don't Have what it takes. Take your wife and go home.' Finally, it was the woman's turn. She was given the Same instructions, to kill her husband. She took the Gun and went into the room. Shots were heard, one After another. They heard screaming, crashing, Banging on the walls.. After a few minutes, all was Quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the Woman, wiping the sweat from her brow. 'This gun is loaded with blanks' she said. 'I had to Beat him to death with the chair.' MORAL: Women are crazy. Don't mess with them!

Deb....So very sorry I didn't read this post earlier. Although I know Friday was a terrible day for you, I hope you were able to reflect on many happy memories from the past 17 years. Hooray for Friday....my favorite day of the week!!! I realize I still have to work all day on Friday but there's just something exciting, after all these years, about anticipating being off for two days! Anyone else feel like this? It's drizzling rain this morning here in sunny Florida but I'm not complaining one bit, as we have been bone dry here and we need every drop of rain we can get. The afternoon is supposed to clear and the weekend should be nice. The high here tomorrow is only going to be 69. That's rare for this time of year in Florida. We had temps this week near 90 and now we're dropping to the 60's. I hope all of this strange winter weather we had is not any indication of a rough hurricane season. This week was the grand opening of a new shopping center here in my sleepy little town. I finally went yesterday afternoon and was disappointed to see so few people shopping. I guess seeing this makes me realize how serious the current economy really is. I bought nothing for myself but did some Easter shopping for the grandbabies. It seems like I seldom spend money on myself since those two came along. But...shopping for them is much more fun!!! Have a good weekend, my friends.
