Well another CT in the bag. Doc said go live your life and I’ll see you in November.

I got a surprise phone call today from my onc nurse today. The results from yesterdays CT is NED. I was NED during my year of Durva. It managed to keep my cancer away ... good news for all patients.
What do you call seagulls that live near the bay?
Bagels.

Roseann-you are almost there. I’m still waiting for phone calls from the docs office-I blew up their phone before because they also dropped the ball on this one-didn’t communicate so the peer to peer didn’t really happen like I was told They cancelled my PET for tomorrow and changed to a CT next week. Hopefully whoever screwed up can fix it and get the PET rescheduled. I have spoken to the insurance company twice, the onc office 3 times, had a conference call with the insurance and the stupid company that precertifies for them, and my insurance company caseworker 4 times who is also leaving msgs to everyone. Hopefully this squeaky wheel will get some grease.

Hi Tomm. I think I’m just nervous about not knowing for sure if there’s any other problems anywhere else since the last PET a year ago.

Hi Barb
Yeah, I really think we know where you’re coming from, seeing is believing in this group. Sounds like you’re doing all the right things. If you have to go to the mattresses, call your State AG or Senator. That’s a headache the insurance company doesn’t want especially about a vendor. Keep making noise!

To all who have completed Durva-did you have a PET scan after? Supposed to get one tomorrow and of course the insurance company is denying it saying I was already diagnosed with LC. I read them the riot act on the phone and now docs office is getting involved. Other than a PET, I don’t see how they can see if the treatment worked, if there is no metastasis since the last PET a year ago, if there is scar tissue and it is dead. I’m so sick of people who are not doctors telling me what I need or don’t need and I told them that.

Hello all. Been a busy bee since my last infusion on May 7th. 3 weeks after I felt like my old self and I feel better a little more every week. Funny thing is I would get sob doing too much and I just realised this too is getting better. Decided to tear down a wall which was a 4 day job. It’s been 3 weeks, it has grown into new floors, paint, doors-what has possessed me? I’m glad you are doing well and I’m hoping we all keep getting good results.

Barb and Polly,
I just had #21, gained a total of 40 lbs so far went from 118 to 158! I am 5ft 5in I had to get some new clothes to wear! Since I'm 62yrs old I don't see the weight coming off very easily, so I am ordering a few dresses that Michelle recommended from Amazon, they are really sweet! And clothes that will grow with me LOL!
Enjoy your summer!
Take care,
Roseann

Prolly-I gained 30 lbs. every one I ever spoke to has gained weight on Durva. The nutritionist at the oncs office confirmed it. It’s only been a month and I refuse to get on a scale so far.

Hi all,
I am new to the Durva club. It is a club I would not have thought of six months ago, but my reality has changed since then.
Barb, I was done with radiation on the twelfth of March and chemo on the 15th of March and now started on durvalumab a couple of weeks ago. I had a rough time of it with chemo and radiation and was like you, I just wanted to go somewhere and not think about cancer. We live in NC and was able to go to Myrtle beach when it reopened and it was wonderful. Take a little weekend and go somewhere it is good for the soul I think.

No beaches here in KS but we WILL head out to one of the “lakes” and camp out in some lawn chairs to celebrate Barb’s crossing of the Durva finish line! Carry on Barb!

Barb, soon as I can take the beach chair, I'll head to the Jersey Shore and chill out there foe ya' and send you the vibes. Several are open for exercise, but I'm more laid back type😁😁

Thanks Opal. I’m hoping I can get a hotel on the GA beach sometimes soon. I’ll bring my masks and clean the room if I have to.

Barb, CONGRATS and welcome to Done With Durva club. Go take that vacation, even if only in your mind.
Ron, sounds good. An optimistic ONC can make all the difference. Maybe a blessing your first doc sent your for that second opinion. Hang in and stay positive.

Well it’s finally here. I’m so excited for #26 tomorrow. I’m hoping that in a few weeks/months I will feel almost normal with no chemical induced side effects? Ready for a much needed break. I only wish I could take a vacation.

Ron ..this new information sounds good to me, my last CT stills shows post treatment things in my lung. When you wake up in the morning you know your still here and you have a large team watching after you.
Barb congratulations on making it to #26. I'm starting to feel much more energy now that I'm done
I hope all the Durva club has a great spring and nice gardens
