  1. My dad said things like this from time to time, and I simply responded, "Well, Dad, we can't take away the past. We have to focus on what we are going to do to get rid of it." I didn't validate his feelings, but I also can't ignore his feelings. So...we really have focused on the future, and the fight. Blessings, Jen
  2. My prayers. Eternal rest be granted unto him oh Lord, and may Your perpetual light shine upon him always. May he rest in peace. Jen
  3. OH Karen. I am so, so sorry to read your post. I cannot believe that this battle has ended for your dad. Cancer has robbed you of your daddy, and for that I am so, so angry. God's plan is sometimes just so hard to understand and to accept. Those dolphins, I am sure, were trying to tell you that your dad is now with peace, and the pain of cancer, will never again haunt him. Eternal rest be granted unto him oh Lord, and may Your perpetual light shine upon him always. May he rest in peace. Blessings for peace and hope Karen, Jen

  5. OH Bobby, I am so sorry to read your post. You have been such a spirit of hope for so many, and your love for your sister has been most enviable. Eternal rest be granted unto her oh Lord, and may Your perpetual light shine upon her always. May she rest in peace. Jen
  6. Do not live your life with guilt. WE all do our best. Now, put it in God's hands, and may you and mom be granted the miracles of healing. Jen
  7. Ken, Welcome...you have come to a wonderful place of encouragement and hope. Blessings always, Jen
  8. I am so, so sorry. Eternal rest be granted unto him oh Lord, and may Your perpetual light shine upon him always. Jen
  9. Congrats on the remission! That is FABULOUS news! I do know what you are saying though, and I think my dad went through this as well. I remember thinking, "Wow...he just got a lease on his life, and it seems that we are still struggling." I can say that dad really came around after year one. I know that sounds like forever, but I guess what I am saying is that 1...we have learned to live with a new normal and 2...they find their own comfort level. I am, however, an advocate of a second opinion. If it just doesn't seem right, then check it out. Blessings, Jen
  10. I got this in my mailbox today...thought you could help... to see online version and links... http://em.mansellgroup.net/acs/relayforlife/tat2.htm Urge your Members of Congress to Choose Wisely Dear , The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is leading the fight to override President Bush's veto of legislation that would increase the federal tobacco tax to pay for an expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). We have the potential to save 900,000 lives by convincing Congress to increase the federal tobacco tax. This increase will encourage adult smokers to quit, and prevent a whole generation of our kids from ever starting to smoke. What's more, it will provide health insurance coverage to low-income children. Now, ACS CAN needs you to lend your voice to the effort! On Thursday, October 18, your U.S. Representative has the choice to override the president's veto and save lives. Will your Representative choose wisely? They need to hear from you TODAY! When the U.S. House voted on this bill a few weeks ago, your Representative voted No, opposing this legislation. It is critical that you join us in helping to change your Representative's mind on this legislation. To be successful, we need your Representative to vote Yes to override the president's veto. Show Congress that Relay For Life participants across the country want them to do everything they can to fight back against cancer. Urge them to make the right choice by voting to override the president's veto of the State Children's Heath Insurance Program bill which includes an increase in the federal tobacco tax. We CAN make a difference. We CAN save lives. We CAN fight back. Help ACS CAN make a difference in the fight against cancer. Take Action TODAY! You can also learn more about what ACS CAN is doing to win this campaign and how you can help ensure your voice is heard in Congress. Looking for another way you can support this and other lifesaving ACS CAN campaigns? Join ACS CAN and become a member of the nation's leading cancer advocacy organization.

  17. Oh Leslie, I am so, so sorry to read your post. I hate to use the cliche, "I know how you feel," but I do. I know where you are right now, with your emotions, as I have been there too. Please know that we are here for you, and we are saying prayers for peace, both for you and for your dad. Mom was just saying yesterday, "You know, I have often thought what really good has come of your dad's cancer," and before I could look at her in disbelief. she went on to say how we as a family are closer, bonded, more faithful to God, and on top of it all...better friends. Stay strong. Blessings, Jen
