  1. Hi All~ My name is Mary and my husbands name is Jerry ( kinda makes me want to break out in song!) We have 3 fabulous boys who are a constant source of pride and joy, Brad 25, Gerard 21, Daniel 18. All doing well at the game of life. Jerry is a retired conductor from the LIRR after 32 yrs. He is a stage III prostate Ca. suvivor! Thank the Lord as I need him now. I am a Registared Nurse here in West Islip, Long Island. I work in the same day surgery unit, but of recent, am "semi-retired". That is very frustrating. I finished my Tx's for IIIB in Sept, so I just hang out waiting for my neuroapathy to pan out. Our plan now,( all the boys are out of the house at this point) is to be the best darn house guests anywhere we are invited! All those "you really must come visits" over the years that we were to busy to entertain...Here we go! Blessing to all on this site who bring me great info, and much hope. Mary oxxoxxxo
  2. Pippa~ How beautifully sad. Sending prayers for strength and understanding to you and your family at this very difficult time. Mary
  3. Cy~ I am a IIIB'er also, and this summer seemed just not doable many days. I read a book by Bill Henderson, Your Guide to Gentle, Non-toxic Healing. I am presently on 20 Green Supreme tabs. a day. Barley in high doses will put ypur body in an alkaline state and Ca can not survive in that enviorment. Congrats on the new addition to the Family~ DAD! Hang in there, please keep us posted. Prayers out to your wife too to keep her strength. Mary
  4. Carol! Just the posting I was looking for~ You go girl! You've got me going! Mary
  5. Hi All! On the topic of STUPID,I went back to work last month and it was horrible, it set off leg pain I cant tell you about, I crawled through a few days and am back out. My MIL says, "thats fine if you can afford it" ! I think my reaction made her wish she had never said it. I find comfort in thinking she cares to much and the set back hurt to much, they just dont know what to say. Foot in mouth disease. As for the did she smoke? Duhhh I have worked w/ surgeons in the OR in the 80'S that smoked in the OR!They dont ask fat people, does she eat donuts? urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, that felt good. Mary
  6. I did not find butt pain such a problem, but I was reading Mikes profile, I have just been given LYRICA for neuropathy. I didnt fill thr RX yet but the pain in my legs put me back out of work . It feels like I'm walking on rocks all the time. Has anyone tried LYRICA? and........does it work? Hope this note finds everyone relaxing after lots of Turkey. Mary

  9. I have very fair Irish skin. I did 36 Tx's with 11 hits each Tx, scarce to no skin changes!? I never really used the eucerin they suggested. The swollowing thing is a bummer for 3-6 weeks, no bubbles (beer ). Alls back to good now! Get the couch comfy and ride it out, it feels good when its completed. Mary

    Work

Hello All~ There is a lot of talk about work as I visited tonight. I feel terrible about Mary Colleens hubby. I too, went back to work 2 wks. ago. We decided I would start back 3 days a week. The 1st week I made it 2 out of 3 days, last week, all 3. This week I am sooooooooo shot . It's not all about the $$$all the time, It's MY JOB I own it, I earned it, I want it!! Is there an icon for stamping your feet up and down? My team is very cautious,(because they care) that is uncomfortable for me. 1/2 the time I feel screw the job, I'm alive. The other 1/2 of the time, I say, it's my job, and I'm going to do it! What ever the new normal is I pray it kicks in soon! Mary
  13. MC~ That just flat out stinks. I'm sending a bunch of hugs your way. I pray this is just a time out, till another "normal" comes around. Mary
  14. great News!! I followed a very similar protocol, and all shrinkin! Praying for shrinkage in your area! Mary

  19. Donna~ I cant say "I know how you feel". I know for sure when I was diagnosed, I would see women out w/ their grandchildren ( I dont have any yet), I would get very tearful, and greif stricken~ OK basically at things like that I would freak out. That has calmed down a bit. Cry when you need to its medicinal. keep 5 of the favorite things about your Mom on the tip of your memory at all times. Know I am praying you that you get some peace and understanding soon. Mary
  20. I love to hear great news!! Thanks for keeping us updated~ Prayers for more great progress. Mary
  21. Ken~ read my last note on my profile, if you have time. One Dr scared the jee-beebers out of us, and low and behold the Dr the next day sent me back to work. Bottom line, waiting sux, xanax does not suc. Mary
  22. Connie~ You go girl! Great advice, I think I'll tuck that line away to use when the idiots show up! Mary
  23. Sally~ Pain , there in itself can reak havoc on your body, that is working so hard. Pain Mgmt. w/ injections, which block nerve paths , so they can calm down do work. You are generally givien IV sedation pre treatment, which makes the treatment tolerable. Keep us posted, Mary
  24. I had to chuckle, thanks for the article, one of the points advises to: Avoid second hand smoke and excersise. That means, if my neighbor excersises it wont help me? I'm kidding, I get it~ just had to share a short giggle. Mary
  25. RUKOOL~ You will often see us all share the same sentiment, waiting sux, thats a fact. You can keep in mind they are being overly cautious, for that be greatful. This was found by "accident" per say another thing to be greatful for. You found us and we will share all the knowledge we have to help you through this finding, stay in touch, all questions, fire away! Mary
