  1. Barbara~ Funny, I should find your posting at the tail end of my 'mini-meltdown". My scans came back improving last Thurs. The Dr. "Ok'ed" me back to work 3 days/week for Monday. He said go back to what you were doing. Work went great, the girls were great. Tuesday, I lost it . very bad day, called in sick Wens! I never do that. I need that day to begin "re-trending" as I call it. You cant go back, so you just move foward, day by day. It was either that or let the funk take over. PS I will be at work Fri, and the tears helped alot. Keep us posted. Waiting to hear the your funk has lifted. Mary
  2. Ken~ waiting sux, no doubt about it, xanax helps, no doubt about it. I'm hoping for scary lungs. I clear my throat also, kind of like excussssssse me! My Doc, says it is post nasel drip w/ clearing. Dont beat yourself up on the smoking thing, many of us been there done that, got the tee shirt, and were suvivors keep your posts comming, we want to know how it goes on the 29th. Mary
  3. MC~ pretty much wrapped up my experience to the tee. Fatigue is the one thing I would add, I'd be fine, wake from a nap, someone would say , Oh , so and so is here , your awake......and i would freak out. Turns out, that is fatigue and it is real, and it does go away. Keep us posted. Mary
  4. Wendy~ It seems when cancer hits, disposable income is one of the 1st things that goes. A little side job will be good for your son, he needs to feel he is helping, thats natural, thats love. I hope some of the suggestions above get you some relif. keep us posted. Mary
  5. I love Long Island, I spent a few years in Ft. Lauderdale and Chicago, then came right back "home". I pride myself in being an excellent house guest, when ever I get the itch to get away from here or the weather! Mary
  6. Bucky~ Next time feel free to correct the ignorant people that must think they are bionic. Remind them, Cancer is Not Killing You, It's forcing You To Live!! And you have a great time in Dallas! Mary

  15. Hi All~ I saw my radiaologist after my 1st scan since Tx. I do not think she realized I had the scan this morning, and would be telling me the results. She said all medisteinal lymph nodes had shrunk. The RLL tumor had shrunk. Then..........she went on to giberish about 2 new spots on my RLL, that may have been ther all along, and I would have 2 discuss that w/ onc. tomorrow (Thurs). The 2 spots did not show in 5/07 in 2 CT w/and w/out contrast, or the PET. I got the impression she had "punting rights" to the Onc. and she used them. Last week when I asked onc. about tarceva he said we blasted you w/ all the chemo one body can take, that was out direction, so no more meds. Woundering what he will say tomorrow. Profile below is so far up to date, I'm very nervous about tomorrow. Any tips for tomorrows visit are appreciated. Mary
  16. Sharon~ Your doing great and yes, today is a very long day. Let us know how Mike makes out. Mary
  17. May I have adose of Valley Fever? Max if you get one, take it!! My husband has sleep apnea, I recorded him snoring/ stop breathing one night when, I could not sleep. I then finally fell asleep, and forgot about the recording. I thought of it weeks later when the subject came up,when friends were visiting. I snuck the tape in and pushed play......everyone in the room was alarmed!!!! what is that noise? OMG! Is there a rinaserrrious in the house? , . That is when my husband got tested . Nights are quieter around here now. Keep us posted. Mary

  20. the news sux. Your Mom is lucky to have you. Respect your Mom for the woman she is. Hospice is a word as powerful as the word cancer itself. They are a symptom managment team, their sole purpose is to work for you and your Mom, it's a family approach. They treat the whole situation day to day. When your Mom's symptoms are relieved and she is able to return to Tx, that is your option, you just thank them and they leave~ In the mean time, sending prayers and hugs your way. Mary

  24. Hi~ I hope you can update your profile as it is very close to mine. Neulasta is a pill, I had neupogen shots, but I was feeling so chitty when I got'em I could not compare. They did the trick. It's a jump start for your WBC's. Hope the punkiness went away and you back at the creek. Mary
