  1. The Who, They were send billing to Herman's Hermits. The Blues Magoos were the third billing. I think the second was Jimi Hendrix. These concerts were in Flint Mi. Am I showing my age? John
  2. I have had mine for 4 1/2 years, so you are asking my memory to work. I do not remember much pain. The most discomfort was when my seat belt laid against it. I also have excellent veins, but my first chemo ate through my vein. It was a low dose because I was getting daily radiation. After it burned through my vein they had to give my 10 injections around the area to counter act the chemo. I have the kind of veins they can hit from ten feet. My port was put in two days later. I had a local to get it. Mine is on my left side. Also make sure you get the numbing cream and apply it to the area one hour before use. Good luck. John
  3. Katie, Thinking of you and your family during this. John
  4. Terrye, I got really bad leg cramps for a few days after each treatment of Taxotere. I recommend drinking lots of water or fluids the day of treatment and at least three days after. Your mother may not have this problem. As far as nausea is concerned I do not remember what I had. I was giving some anti nausea medications IV through any chemo treatment they felt was necessary. I also had copazene(not sure on spelling) to take as needed. I did use it during some of the chemos, but not often and do not remember which ones. It sounds like she has a good treatment plan. I wish her luck going through this. John
  5. Frank, I am glad you posted an update, I have been concerned about how it is going for you. This is I am sure was some tough news to take. I am sure you will be playing golf this spring. I hope you can get this acid reflux straighten out soon, so you are feeling better. My best to you my friend. John
  6. Aaron, This how I looked at the whole hair loss thing. Hey no nose hair, ear hair, seldom shave, washing hair easy. The most important is you are in a fight of your life, how you look doing it is really no big deal. People that know you and care about are really proud of you. John

  8. I drank through all my chemos no mater what it was. There some chemos that I just did not feel good enough to drink much. It was one way to keep my weight up. Good luck with Taxotere. I drank lots of water with that one, because it gave me leg cramps.
  9. Cindi, I had to post on this one when you mention, breast and the girls. Hey good luck on the heart and arteries. I suppose I good mind the pub, but that is like the fox guarding the hen house. John

    Life is Good!!

Gee wiz Debi I do not think my TV is that big. Enjoy.
  13. Liz, I see my wife has already responded. My treatment was the same as yours in the beginning except the the surgery. The daily (5 X a week) and the carboplatin/taxotere once a week (Wednesday) worked well for me. It was quite doable. The chemo would have me down a bit Saturday, but I managed to get out on Saturday night. I too was a smoker, although I quit 4 years prior do diagnosis. I used welbutron to help me quit. It is also used for depression. It might be worth a try to make it a little easier. Talk to your doctor. Good luck with everything. John
  14. I do have neuropathy in my feet but I have had it before my diagnosis. Various chemo's have increased it, but it usually goes back to what I had before. The Avastin has increased it slightly it seems. I have a very slight rash in my hair, slight fatigue right after treatment. The Avastin has been one of the easiest chemos I have had. Good luck with it all. John
  15. $10,000 06' Suzuki GSXR 1000 Farmington, UT 84025 - Aug 7, 2006 2006 Suzuki 1000. This bike is perfect! It has 1000 miles and has had its 500 mile dealer service. (Expensive) It's been adult ridden, all wheels have always been on the ground. I use it as a cruiser/commuter. I'm selling it because it was purchased without proper consent of a loving wife. Apparently "do whatever the hell you want" doesn't mean what I thought. Call me, Steve (801)867-8292
  16. Wendy, I have been on both drugs, but not at the same time. I am currently on Avastin. I have had it every three weeks since June. I have not experienced side effects like yours. John
  17. Bobby, The way it worked for me was, I collected disability insurance from my company, then SS took effect after six months. The disability insurance company helped me file. It was to their advantage, because they did not have to pay as much when I went on SS. It was 9 months after my diagnosis that I filed. SS paid me back money to the 6 months, but not for the first 6 months, I had to pay the disability company the back pay I got.
  18. Frank, Don't whack it off just yet . Maybe drinking something cold will awaken your bladder. It is amazing the things we can do to ourselves to get better. You have a good excuse. No apology is necessary. My best to you on your scan.
  19. You are driving in a car at a constant speed. On your left side is a 'drop off' (The ground is 18-20 inches below the level you are traveling on), and on your right side is a fire engine traveling at the same speed as you. In front of you is a galloping horse which is the same size as your car and you cannot overtake it. Behind you is another galloping horse. Both horses are also traveling at the same speed as you. What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation? For the answer move down Get your drunk *ss off the merry-go-round.

Also Woolworth's in Flint MI and another department store in downtown Flint. I can not remember it's name. I believe JC Penny downtown Flint also had one.
