  1. Wishing you the best on the upcoming 200K! You amaze me every day. Thank you for sharing what you are accomplishing, it makes me try harder to do more and encourages me. Another dreadful (LOL) gorgeous day here. Just loving this cool spate of weather. Hubs is home with the flu, so hoping he gets better quick. It's so unlike him to be sick. I made a lovely home made spaghetti dinner last night and he could not eat. He's lounging and watching tennis, trying to feel better. I'm also selfishly hoping I don't get it! Nasty stuff. Today is Gilda's Club day so I'll be heading out soon. Am mentoring an elderly woman with lung cancer, and it's been quite difficult as she is very confused by all of it. Makes me want to go with her to her Onc appointment to find out what is really going on. I'm doing the best I can with what I've got to work with. K, Have a wonderful rest of the day. Judy in MI
  2. Praise the Lord! What good news. It was there all along, so he'll be just fine! Yeah! So happy for the two of you. Judy in MI
  3. Welcome here! I have not heard of this drug, but I'm not in the medical profession. Just wanted to welcome you here and wish you the best. Do check out the web link Katie left you. We have amazing doctors there that will know what you are talking about. Keep us posted on how you are doing! Judy in MI
  4. Praying for a great outcome from the surgery. Like someone said before me, heart stuff is very fixable. wishing you the best. Judy in MI
  5. Good morning all! Ah, a nice chilly morning here! Got into the 50's last night. Love it. Windows open, hearing the birds chirp. Lovely. Supposed to get to 75 today. Love these cool days that insert themselves intermittently through out the hot summers. Well, I got my new Nissan Murano today. It's beautiful. Did discover some features that were on my Infinity that are not on the Nissan . No complaints though. Still a beautiful vehicle. Need to call Infinity and find out what the "turn back in" process is for my car that the lease is ending on. I have a nice, (needed) slow day today. No real things I need to get done. That is nice. New medication is making me sleepy, and am hoping after a few days that side effect will go away. Eric, had to go to Google to look up crockery and biccies, had no clue what you were talking about. LOL! Dishes and biscuits! Who would have known. Your minister is in for a treat! Judy, I can totally relate to the chemo brain. It still is not back to what it was, doubt it will ever return. 6. Hello all! Beautiful day here! 68 degrees, and mild. No humidity! Yeah! Eric, God bless you for advocating for lung cancer. Yeah, it's not sexy, does not involve children, and yet....it's the #1 cancer killer of women now. So it does involve children in an in-direct way. Don't know the stats about men, but do know it surpassed breast cancer in women. If that's not cause for concern I don't know what is. Thank you for what you are doing. Can't wait to see your pictures! I still have to put the pics of my new dog on line, just have not made the time to do it. Well, I'm heading out for "work". Lots to do as we have two festivals we are participating in yet this month! Yikes. Lots to do to prepare for this. Have a good day everyone! Judy in MI
  7. Thanks for sharing! This is amazing news and so encouraging that they are making progress in this! Judy in MI
  8. Hello all, It's 80 here and the storms blew the humidity out! Yeah! Supposed to get down to 55 tonight after dark, can you say turn off the air and open the windows???? Hi of 70 tomorrow. Beautiful! Supposed to be nice moderate 70's, with cool nights until the weekend. Then rain coming back. Am going to love this week. Bud, congrats on finishing the race. Way to go! You should be very proud of yourself. Heidi it sounds like you had an awesome weekend. How fun! Katie, double BOO on the ticket. Man, he must have been having a bad day to give you a five over ticket. Mud on his face!!! LOL! Hope your meeting is fun tonight. I need to get home and let puppy out and then to the chiropractor to see if he can provide some relief for this back! Judy IN MI
  9. LOL Randy...was not a good day here. Pain was high, so forced to take Vicodin, which resulted in nausea. *sigh* Totally bums me out. Spent most of the day on the couch, with Hubs trying to make food to entice me to eat. Didn't eat much. Had to force myself to eat, and felt totally miserable. Took a Vicodin at 8:00 and again at 1:30 and then resorted to Ibuprofen. Enough of the narcotics! Puppy is fantastic. Weather was nasty today, with lots of pop up storms, but all is quiet now. We have a cold front coming in with highs in mid 70's and lows in the 50's!!!! Yeah. A/C off for a couple of days. Hoping to post better news soon. P.S. Don't fall and break your Sacrum bone. It hurts....A LOT! Judy in MI
  10. Hi All, Happy Saturday. It's hot and humid today. Woke up early, took puppy out to play, and then fed them, and flopped on the bed to play again, and woke up 4 hours later! Wow! Must have needed the sleep. Have to admit that the pain in my back with the fracture is quite severe. The vicodin knocks me out, so I hesitate to take it during the day, hate that tired feeling it gives me. But I'm okay. Hubby gets home from a fishing trip in 2 hours and the house is a mess, I have not showered yet, and he's just going to have to accept that. Donny, I know what you mean about the activities of so many here. I get tired just reading about it! But it does motivate me to keep trying and never give up. I love that. Judy in MI
  11. Hi Denise, saying prayer for you and Tom. I hope this is very fixable. I have learned that after cancer, and chemo, life gets quite complicated! Hang in there. Judy in MI
  12. Sounds like a good plan Bud. It's 85 here, and the humidity is building again. Storms for tomorrow. Lost my cell service in the last storm, must be a tower got taken out near my house. Had my first puppy disaster happen today. I left her out to run to the doctor thinking she'd be okay for an hour or so. Came home to carpeting in the dining room shredded! I'll have to replace it she did so much damage. My fault, should not have left her out. I'm tired today. Just been yawning all afternoon. Anyway that's it for me. Have a good weekend. Judy in MI
  13. Well, I guess you got your answer! I did not need radiation, but have known of many people that get both concurrently. Wishing you the best with your treatments. Looking forward to getting to know you better! Judy in MI

    7 Days

Hi Ronnie, I understand grief. Not of a spouse, but of both my parents and my sister. Bottom line is you just have to go through it. It will be hard when your son goes back to his home. I pray that the quiet and solitude bring with them peace as you come to terms with her death. It's so difficult! ((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))) Judy in MI
  15. Ron, I am so very sorry for your loss. She must have known, and didn't want you to see her pass. Praying for peace for you and your children. Judy in MI
  16. Hello! High of 80 here today! Gorgeous weather. The storms passed through, the humidity is gone, and it's fantastic! This is when I so love living here. Incredible weather. Was tired today, think the pain wears me out. So I got up, took puppy out to do her business, and then invited her to snuggle in bed with me. Hubs is out of town for 3 days, so I thought I'd allow a little snuggle in bed. It was not that relaxing, as she is a puppy and wants to P L A Y!!!! LOL! What a delightful way to slowly wake myself up! Bud, you just amaze me with your long bike rides and stamina! Way to go. Judy, congrats on the new computer. I'm suspecting dinner will be fabulous. My husband is a great cook too. He didn't do much of that before I got sick, but he learned, and he's so good at it now. I love that. I love that he loved me enough to learn how to cook, and now does more of it than I do! Today is Gilda's Club day from 2:30 to 6:00! Afterwards, I will take myself out to this little restaurant on the lake, and sit outside and enjoy a meal. Early to bed and lots of rest after that. Have a great day! Judy in MI
  17. So sorry for your loss. Hope you will stay with us, this site is for survivors of all types. I sure wish I had known about this site, or maybe it was not even around when my Mom died. It would have been a huge source of support for me. We want to do that for you Ron. Take care, Judy in MI
  18. Awesome! Gives me hope. Thank you for sharing this wonderful news. Judy in MI
  19. Hi all! 84 here, high humidity. More big storms last night, and possibility of more today and tomorrow. It's extremely windy, so I think something is blowing in. Today was fun! I took Olive in for her first grooming. We've only had her a week, but she had this very long hair and she looked like a puff ball. What a surprise when I went to pick her up! I'll post pics once hubs gets home and teaches me how to put them on my laptop. I can't find the place where you insert the photocard!!! It is the one technology thing that challenges me. I'm pretty adept at a lot of computer stuff, but not pictures. I'll learn! Anyway, the surprise is she looks like a little girl now, and a poodle! Hubs will be very surprised, and most likely won't let me get her cut like this again. He likes the LAB in the LABradoodle! LOL! Anyway, all is good here. Judy in MI Don't know if I posted a picture of her here or not. This is her before the hair cut.
  20. Cute! New twist on an old joke. I like it.
  21. Go get 'em Keli! Sounds like you are doing fantastic! I'm so happy you are tolerating things so well. Judy in MI
  22. Hi all! Last night was a crazy Michigan storm night. It's unusual to get tornadoes here. It's not that it's rare, but does not happen often. And I usually will sleep through a storm, but this one was a doozy. My Satellite TV wouldn't work with all the lightning, so I went to my lap top (which has Verizon cell card on it), and brought up the local TV station to see that there were tornado warnings everywhere, and our little town (which is very, very little) was in the warning area. So I woke Hubs up and told him we needed to get to the basement, grabbed the lap top and we saw that a tornado touched down very close to us. The storm calmed down and we went back to bed. I was so surprised this morning to not find tree branches, or leaves blown around because the wind was howling, but we were good! We didn't lose power, and no lightning damage so all is good! Tonight is supposed to be another rough night. We have very high humidity, and these fronts come across the big lake and build in humidity due to the huge lake being very cold, and the air very hot, so it picks up that humidity and dumps it on us, the air becomes very unstable, and this is what June tornado weather is for us here. It's 85 here, but it feels like it's over 100 with this sticky weather. Yuck. Going to ask if we can go out tonight, and NOT sit outside. Judy in MI
  23. Hi there, I agree with Randy, it does not get better, but it does get easier. The factor is time. I am not saying the old addage, "time heals all wounds". The loss of a loved one to cancer can not be healed. But it can get better. I'm so sorry for your loss, and your sorrow. Know that you found a great place here to write out thoughts, share feelings, and get positive feedback, and reinforcement. You obviously are not alone, though it must feel that way at times. My heart breaks for you. I've lost too many to this disease, and I know how sad it is. I pray you find peace as time marches on. And "the date" just is not important, unless you want to celebrate the date he went from this world to the eternal world of perfection, which is heaven. HUGS Judy in MI
  24. Hi Mary, Welcome here. Keep us updated on how you are. This place is full of very nice folks that just want to support you in this journey. Lots of long time survivors here too! Judy in MI
