MilliBr1
Sorry I don't have an answer, but I wanted to say I will be praying for your sister in-law.
Cindy RN
RUN do not walk to the nearest Cancer Facility. You need to find a second opinion NOW!! I am not familiar with the area you are in so you need to post this message in the general forum and see if anyone there can refer you to someone. Good luck, prayers with your sis, Cindy
ginnyde
We have other members from your area that can probably help you, so please do post this again in General. Also, isn't Vanderbilt near you. I think they have a strong cancer center. I wish you much success.
kickincancer
I sent you a pm. My mom was also treated at UT. Not anymore she is being treated at The Cancer Treatment Centers Of America and she loves it. I sent you more info. Best wishes!!
Snowflake
First suggestion: edit your post and remove your phone number. Safety first! Second suggestion: PM dadstimeon and see if he can set you up with some websites to search for cancer centers near you. Seek the second and third opinion. At 37, giving up just isn't an option. Good luck, Becky
cindi o'h
Hello Angela. Fay A. is a member of our support community and she is really smart. I pulled this name from an earlier post. She had given the name of Dr. David Carbone a doc who has a special interest in lc. I think she said that he was in the Woodlawn area. At Vanderbilt maybe. You need to help her to fight this. I agree... 37 is too young. Please come here for support for yourself and for your sil.. Cindi o'h

mhutch1366
You could try NIH,Dr David Schrump, the thoracic surgeon in the Cancer Institute. He has taken on surgery when other doctors wouldn't. He's especially patient when getting tumors out/off of tricky places involving tedious dissections. Email at: schrumpd@mail.nih.gov OR phone 301-496-2127 at NIH in Bethesda, Md. He can at least give you an expert opinion. Prayers, XOXOX MaryAnn
Fay A.
Dr. David Carbone at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He has a special interest in Lung Cancer, is a Cancer Survivor himself (Lymphoma that was originally thought to be Lung Cancer-which resulted in Thoracic Surgery). Contact information is as follows: http://medicine.mc.vanderbilt.edu/divis ... cfm?PI=828 http://medschool.mc.vanderbilt.edu/facu ... hp?id3=743 Wishing you and your sister the very best luck. Dr. Carbone is one of the top 5 Lung Cancer Experts in the Country. Please let me know if the links above do not work. The telephone number is (615) 936-3321, just in case. AMartin190
Thanks to all who responded! I appreciate everything -I have left a message for Dr Carbone and my brother is going to try to take her to Nashville this weekend. If you have any more treatment imformation she needs to hear it - She is just giving up...I am fighting for her - Angie
mhutch1366
Angie, If Nashville says inoperable, call Dr. Schrump. He helped Kasey when Fox-Chase said she was inoperable. I know it's a little farther, but our tax dollars support him... and he's world class as a lung cancer surgeon.
Fay A.
Angie, I agree! If Vanderbilt says "No" call the doc at NHI/NCI. Heck....call them tomorrow anyway...just in case. There's nothing wrong with lining up more than one source of help. Nothing at all. Hope to hear from you soon.
