Ry
My family. I love the way the kids are so excited they can barely stand it. I love the way they try so hard not to bicker on Christmas day. I like watching them open presents...it is just a joy.
Leslie221
I haven't had any blood family since I was 26, but have always had lots of in-laws around. (Some years that was a treat, some years it was not. ) Since we moved out here from California 4 1/2 years ago, we haven't been with family at the holidays. And, you know what? We've had some much happier holidays, just the two of us. I always love my Christmas Day with Mark. Since we don't have kids, we get to be the kids at Christmas! I just love the comfortableness, the fun, the lack of pressure, the enjoyment of silly little things we share. And then a big, fancy turkey dinner! And ALL the pumpkin pie is ours! KatieB
Of course I love my family, but I love all the wonderful stories of generosity and charity. Normal people who do extrordinary things- like the small child who collected 5,000 blankets for the homeless or the Santa who signs and visits the hearing impaired schools and the wonderful people who volunteer to give disadvantaged children a wonderful christmas, and all of us here doing our part for the Katrina evacuees and families of soldiers who aren't coming home this Christmas. The overwhelming kindness and selflessness and charity to others reminds me over and over what this season is all about. And that makes me appreciate what I have and my own family even more. God Bless us all!
Carleen
I love sharing the day with family and friends and then coming home for a quiet evening with just Keith and I. I also love how everyone everywhere seems to be a little nicer, more tolerant, and giving at this time of year.
