Don Wood Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I was going through a lot of papers this week, to find information to help with the probate, and to toss a lot of things that were no longer needed. I came across some letters Lucie sent to me when we were engaged, just before our wedding. It was a great comfort to me to read through them. In one, she expressed how excited she was to spend the rest of her life with me -- and she did. That was an unexpected and wonderful gift to find those letters. Don Quote
tnmynatt Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Glad you found those letters. I was cleaning a few months ago and found the first note Charlie ever wrote me. It made me feel really good inside to feel his sense of humor and love. Take care, Don. Quote
Geri Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Don, you've given me a very special feeling tonight. How wonderful to come across such a special gift for you at this time. Take care Geri Quote
Kasey Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Letter from the past? Letter from the present......from Lucie. What a comfort, Don. Love, Kasey and Fred Quote
sharonjo Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Don, That is awesome. I often re-read the old letters that my deceased husband had sent to me when we first got together. I always smile when I read them, and I always feel better after having read them. My advice would be to hold onto them forever as they are priceless! God Bless, Sharon Quote
kamataca Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 She was a lucky lady. You were both blessed. Kelly Quote
sharyn Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Don, How blessed Lucy and you were to have each other all these years, and I don't think it was a coincidence you came upon those letters, nope, not a coincidence at all... Quote
Donna Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Dear Don, I don't think it was a coincidence either, I have to agree with Sharyn..It was meant for you to find those letters..Lucie is saying happy holidays, and she will always love you.. God Bless.. Donna Quote
Treebywater Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 How wonderful, Don. I'm so glad that you found those treasures... Quote
Ann Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Don, I also found some letters from Dennis after he passed. Those letters are so treasured and mean so very much to me. As others have said, I don't think it's pure coincidence that leads to us to find these things when we do. Finding those letters was just Lucie's special way of reminding you how much she will always love you. Quote
Welthy Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Don, That is so neat -- what a wonderful way to "feel" Lucie with you again! Thinking of you always with much respect, Welthy Quote
Don Wood Posted November 18, 2006 Author Posted November 18, 2006 I had dinner with my daughter last night and she also said I was meant to find the letters. Quote
