Ann
Do you/Did you call your inlaws by their names or refer to them as Mom and Dad?
Ann
I did call my MIL "Mom" but never felt comfortable calling my FIL by anything other than his name. I think the reason I did this was because Dennis was much closer to his Mom than he was to his Dad.

J.C.
Had no inlaws, Mike called my mother ''Love'' or by her name. She always called him Michael. They got along so well. Jackie
Don Wood
I called my MIL "Mom". We were very close, and I called my own mother "Mother". My FIL died before I met Lucie, so I did not get to choose anything. I probably would have called him "Cage" (his nickname). I called my father "Dad". ztweb
Interesting post. I have always called my inlaws by their names, as has my husband called mine by their names too. My husband and my mom have a bantering "name calling" going back and forth, which I love. Jen
Geri
By name. They were Mr and Mrs until we got engaged and then my future FIL (a really lovely man) says with a big grin " you needn't think you're going to call me Dad, my name's Bert" Okay, whatever.......I had a Dad and certainly didn't want another one. As my MIL isn't always the cuddly motherly type it wasn't hard to use her name either! Geri

Connie B
I always called them mom and dad. I felt funny calling them by name. I once asked my mom if that upset her when I called my in-laws mom and dad, and she said, "not at all" she was glad I had a warm and loving relationship with my in-laws. My in-laws always referred to me as there daughter. My husband was an only child.
sharyn
I had the most fantastice in laws that anyone could want - they were more than inlaws they were great friends. I called them by their first names - and boy, do I miss them both.
