  3. Welcome Trayce, Its great to meet you. I am a 5 year stage III/IV survivor with adenocarcinoma. Its great to hear that you have been able to return to you job, just make sure that you take time for yourself everyday to rest. It is sometimes easy to forget how toxic the chemo drugs are that we take to save our life. Wendy
  4. Hip Hip Hooray, enjoy the cruise and the break! Wendy
  5. Welcome back, although I wish it was just to check in and not that your mom is back in treatment. The one thing I wanted to add (and maybe one of the other survivors/friends already said) was to make sure that your mom drinks lots of water. My sister in law took Taxol and had lots of leg pain/aches. Drinking gatorade and water daily helped her tremendously. Take care and keep us posted on your moms progress. Wendy
  6. I loved it too! Congrat's Sandra, Wendy
  7. Welcome to LCSC! Keep on fighting, Wendy
  8. Carole, How scary!! I agree with Becky, I think you need to get a tatoo of the pink bunny with his drum. Keep on keepin' on, Wendy
  9. Welcome! I have been on Tarceva for 3 years and have had greatresults with it. I hope that the drug works just as good for you. Wendy
  10. Sarah, I can surely relate to your beathing problems in cold weather. Here in MN we have been getting hit with below zero temperatures too. I try to cover my mouth and nose with a scarf and try to direct the air down away from my glasses. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When it is really cold, I also try to have someone shop with me and drop me at the door of the store - that works good for me. Wendy

    bone mets

Hi Bucky, I have had several treatments for bone mets. I had one in my spine (t12) and one on my pelvis (ischium bone) treated with spot radiation - 10 treatments, and Tarceva/ Avastin & Zometa combo 3 years ago. The ischium bone is the bone that you sit on, the pain I had there went away about 3 weeks after I started radiation - it still hurts occasionally depending on the cold weather. A year ago they found another met in my spine at T10 that didn't cause a problem until last month (12 months later). I just had stereotactic radiation there last week. I am having some pain from this met, we'll see how soon it will disappear. I also had a met to my skull that appeared 3 months ago. I had radiation to that spot and still have occasional pain but no where near the length of time or severity. So from my story, I have had a mixed bag with bone mets. Overall I have been pretty lucky to have at least some pain relief from the radiation, drug combos. Wendy

  20. Hi Bette, I didn't have any backpain before I was diagnosed with LC. Since diagnosis I have had 2 mets to my spine, one that caused some pain - the other caused no pain. I have my fingers and toes crossed that your pain subsides and turns out to be just plain aging. Wendy

    Side Effects

Hi Diane, Your treatment last week sounds identical to mine, almost 5 years ago. I didn't have problems with stomach pain though. Does the nurses know whats been bugging you? Sometimes they have something else to counteract the problem. Are you drinking lots and lots of water during your treatment week? I felt more tired and ache if I didn't drink a full 8 glasses of water a day. I hope you find some comfort soon for your tummy. Keep us posted, Wendy
