  1. Have a ZOOpendous time, MO! Sounds great. Don
  2. I agree with those here -- scans are an important thing to track progress or regress of the disease. I would tend to want to get another onc. who will do this. Any time Lucie has constant pain in an area, the onc. gets scans. And then periodically, just to be sure. Good luck. Don

    Shrinkage

    Great news, TBone! Congrats. Don
  4. TAnn, sounds good ti me. Enjoy your break. Don
  5. I've said here often "Don't borrow trouble. Theyre's enough real stuff to be concerned about." You are right -- the stress from the worry does not help the body to be healthy. You got excellent news! Enjoy it! Don
  6. Good luck. I hope you become one of the "empty headed" around here! Don
  7. I had no grandparents to remember, and my kids had only one out of four. And we all did fine with stories of them. Your kids do have time with them and that is a blessing from my perspective. Don
  8. Kate, my prayers are with you and your dad. Don
  9. Thanks for checking in with us, Shelly, and letting us know about you and your dad. You have had to endure a lot this past year. Know that we are with you. Don
  10. Colleen, so sorry for your great loss. Thanks for taking the time to let us know, and in such beautiful words. Bill will live on in the sweet memories and in the lives of all the people he touched. Blessings. Don
  11. Forgiveness is not an easy thing, but we are called to practice it anyway. Forgiveness is not about the forgiven one, but the forgiving one. It is a way to bring peace to the forgiving one. It is to say, "This hurt will no longer control and rule my life. I am moving on." It is a move toward wholeness and wellness. Many times, we need God's strength to add to our own to be able to do this. I wish that peace for you, Lily. Blessings. Don

    T-Bone's Scans

Mky prayers are with you and family, TBone. Get some good news. Don
  17. Christy, it is good to know things are okay right now, and that you two are enjoying that. Darrell IS your first concern, and that is as it should be. We on here understand that. We wish you both the best. Don
  18. Sorry you have gotten this awful disease. My wife's case has similarities to yours (see below bio). First, feel free to express yourself here often. We are all here to support and exchange info. We are all on this walk together. I recommend that you seek someone out where you are that you feel you can trust and express yourself to on a regular basis. You will need to do this for yourself. Secondly, you need an advocate --whether your husband or sister or someone else -- who will fight for you through the system. You will often be too sick, too tired, too medicated to do the best for yourself, so you need another pair of ears and mouth. And let them do that for you. There is hope here, so hang on to that. You have friends here. Don
  19. Along that vein, I actually overheard recently a woman in a fastfood line ask the server if the BLT salad contained bacon!
  20. Good to see you posting, Gina! We are 16 months out and NED right now. Cancer does not rule our lives like it did a year ago, but we are not complacent about it. We have decided to move on and make plans, and take what comes. Best to you. Don

    My dad is at peace

Kim, so sorry at the loss of your dad. My heartfelt sympathies. Don
  22. I'm glad you found it helpful to you. We did finish the book together, and it provided a great sharing time each day for the two of us. We have never read a book together, so that was special. We got a lot of issues aired, and it does help one put things in perspective, at least we found it to be that way. Don
