Congradulations! Sounds like a great backdrop for the celebration of the union. Especially as I look out the window and watch all that white stuff falling to the ground on top of all the white stuff that is still on the ground. Yes those words - cruise- tropics- 80 's sound like a great place to have a January wedding. May you have many many anniversaties celebrated on cruises in January for years to come! Donna G

I just l read this am in the paper NATIONWIDE PLAN AIMS TO HELP SMOKERS QUIT by Hope Yen, Associated Press. It said they plan to raise federal taxes on the packs from $ .39 to $ 2.39. The addition $ 2 would be used for a help line . It said annually 440,000 people die prematurely from illness caused by cigs, That would be equal to a 9/11 happening every other day. Hi Nushka, if you had surgery it was probably an open thorocotomy, Do you have the big smile? In order to do that they break a couple of ribs. I have 2 that never really healed well that show on xray. Once in a while one gets out of whack and I think it pinches the muscle , not long ago it was bothering me and I rolled over in bed , heard a crack and the pain went away. O well. The surgery is a good thing, in 2 weeks I celebrate 6 yrs since surgery. Take care Donna G

It is a good thing to face your emotions. You also need to know you have a choice whether you let them take over or whether you decide to take over. You faced them and decided that enjoying the time you do have your Dad is important. Good Job! Donna G

Stage IV or Stage I wow that is a big difference . We are all waiting for the final call.., Donna G

It is likely we are still talking lung cancer, only now it is in the liver. Treatments like RFA are an option, are they talking chemo? Donna G

The Four Candles The four candles burn slowly. The ambiance is so soft you can hear them talking. The first one says, “I am Peace! However, nobody can keep me lit. I believe I will go out.” Its flame rapidly diminishes and goes out completely. The second one says, “I am Faith! Most of all, I am no longer indispensable, so it doesn’t make any sense that I stay lit any longer.” When it was finished talking, a breeze softly blew on it putting it out. Sadly, the third candle speaks in its turn, “I am Love! I haven’t the strength to stay lit. People put me aside and don’t understand my importance. They even forget to love those who are nearest to them.” And no longer waiting it goes out. Suddenly, a child enters the room and sees three candles not burning. “Why are you not burning? You are supposed to stay lit ‘til the end.” Saying this, the child begins to cry. Then the fourth candle says, “Don’t be afraid, while I am still burning we can relight the other candles, I am Hope.” With shining eyes, the child takes the candle of Hope and relights the other candles. The flame of Hope should never go out from your life….and that each of us can maintain Hope, Faith, Peace and Love!

Somewhere here today or yesterday I read for BAC the best bet is to have surgery even if it is on bothe lungs. Ordinarily it said Stage IV would be no surgery ( staged because bothe lung.) but the article said as long as not mets outside of lungs was a good idea. We sure all want to keep posted on how this all goes! OK? Donna G

I had Etoposide and Cisplatin with concurrent daily radiation for NSCLC to start my cancer treatment. When I had surgery , I asked what they found when they removed the tumor. They said all that was left was scar tissue. They did a right upper lobectomy. It was part of my protocol to have another round of the same chemo after surgery . I started all this in December 1997 I finished in April 1998 and have been cancer free since. I pray that your husbands tumor also turns to just SCAR tissue. Donna G

Wow. That was very interesting Fay. I would think that there are people out there with bilateral tumors and no lymph node involvement that have been told Stage IV and get ready to get your affairs in order that according to this study COULD BE CURED ! Thanks for this info! Donna G
