  15. Glad to hear such terrific news!
  16. Thank you so much for all of the input, I plan on passing it on to my dad. Ry, I think despise was too strong a word. It seems that people are against getting a port and maybe it is because like others have said it "makes you look/feel sick". He just got his scans results today so its all just sinking in. I am sure all of these responses from people actually in the same boat he is will really help! You guys are great!
  17. Congratulations! What an inspiration!
  18. Trying to stay upbeat Anyway, dad says his veins are getting shot due to heart problems, extensive treatments, etc. He does not want a port but thinks it may be easier.......from what I have read from past posts, most people despise the port. Just looking for some opinions... Thanks! Tammy

    Alimta

Well, since we are on to Alimta, a few questions for those of you who are/have taken it. I have read some old posts that talk about fatigue. How long on average does it last and when does it tend to hit? My dad is going to be taking it once every 3 weeks. The doc said "indefinitely". I see that people have been on "rounds" of it but is anyone on it "indefinitely". It seems that when they scan him again in 3 months, if things are shrinking/staying stable, they will keep him on it. He only had this one lymph node light up between his lungs, everything else was clear. Thanks! Tammy
