Flowergirlie, SOme people believe you have to fill that place. That you have to have someone with you. Not sure if that comes from fear of being alone or what. I am so happy that your husband was your soulmate, some people never feel that connection, I am just sorry that you lost your husband so soon. Only you know whats right for you and when. I hope in time you find peace and happiness no matter how you achieve that. I can tell through all your posts what an amazing person you are, don't let anyone elses opinion bother you. I am glad to hear you are going back to school and focusing on your children. I think you are doing great. Continue to stay true to yourself. Dana

Welcome to a wonderful site though I am sorry you have to be here. My mom was diagnosed in Feb 07 with sclc Limited. It is so much info to digest. I researched as much as I could. I asked lots of questions. JUst being there for support is the most important thing. I send prayers to you and your family, Dana

The day my mom told me she had lung cancer is a the day my life changed. I have had the whole range of emotions, all of which we are entitled to. I understand your feelings but you are doing a great thing by collecting info. My mom is a very strong and independent woman but when she got sick it was very difficult to take it all in and there were times she was just to sick. I researched and asked questions. I made sure she got what she needed even if I had to ruffle some feathers along the way. I am glad to hear your Dr.'s are better and supportive. You want a Dr. who is going to fight right along with you. My mom's Dr.s laugh when I come in each time with my list of questions but they have told me how great it is that I do that. Keep strong and believe. This site has been a god send to me. The info that people share from their own experience makes this journey a little easier. Even my mom's Dr told me to ignore statistics. Ask questions and never be afraid to come to this site and share your feelings. You are NOT alone. If you ever have any questions feel free to PM me. As a daughter I know how you feel. Welcome to the boards though I am sorry you have to be here. My mom had such a relief after she broke the news to us kids. SHe said it was the hardest thing she had to do but from that day on we were her biggest supporters. As a family we chose to fight together! I pray for strength for you and your family. Nova, Just checking in and hoping that things are getting better. I also wanted you to know what a great job your doing! Your love and commitment shine through all your posts. Your positve attitude is contagious. Keep that strength and fight. My mom is very subborn and many times said "Don't tell the Dr. I'm fine. I started ignoring her and at times when she wasn't eating I would rat her out. Hey it was for her own good! If your gut tells you to call or say something. do it. Even if it gets you "THE EVIL EYE" which my mom is a pro at!!!! My prayers are with you, Dana

I also can relate. It was very difficult for my mom also. SHe also had the magic mouthwash and pain meds. It was still a struggle. SHe would have carnation instant breakfast shakes. We would fotify jello with powdered egg whites. It does get better with time. I agree also that if it can cause this much damage I pray it is also doing damage to the cancer!!! Keep strong, Dana
