    ice storm

670,000 people without any power. They have no idea how long it will take to get the power up and running. They sounded like it would be weeks + some. What I saw on TV was devestating.
  3. Just wanted to let you know I heard from Carole today. She is fighting fatigue but hopes to maybe post to the board when she feels up to it. Your in my prayers Carole. ((((((((((((((((((((((((((CAROLE))))))))))))))))))))
  4. Very nice to see you Tom. Sorry your battling this dreaded depression. As for my RBC mine was fine within a couple of months after chemo. So, I never had any blood problems. The famous last words are "everyone is different." Some never do have problems and some do like what your going through. B12 shots can be wonderful. I have several friends (for other health issues) that get the B-12 shot and they swear by them as far as giving them energy back. As for the depression, it took me 2 years after I was dx.d to pick up my life again and face my demons and say, "I'm going to live, I beat this crap and I better get out of this stooper and get on with my life." And low and behold that's exactly what I did. But I fought depression for a good 2 years. Sadly enough, that's not uncommon with any cancer patient. Once I started focusing on others and not on my cancer and the fact that I thought (Convinced) myself I was going to die, my life took a positive turn around. I made up my mind I wasn't going to let the cancer rule my life. I got a second chance and by golly I was going to enjoy it the best I could. I hope you'll pop in more often, if for no other reason then to say HI and maybe offer HOPE to all those wonderful people that are new to this journey and need to know we DO and CAN SURVIVE Lung cancer. Good Luck and Keep on Keeping on. Happy 3 Years of being a LC SURVIVOR! ROCK ON!

    ice storm

Oh Chris, I KNEW you were getting hit! Those ice stroms are the WORST! Stay warm my friend and know I'm sending good wishes and warm weather your way. Glad your okay and you checked in. We'll hold the fort down until you get back.
  6. Hi Tracy, Oh Tracy you and your uncle need to know that chemo responds very well to small cell lung cancer. I'm sorry his Onc Doc isn't offering much hope. Shame on the Onc Doc. I know many even on this board that are Small Cell Extensive Survivors and are doing very well after there chemo. One of my friends is soon to be a 9 year EX-SCLC survivor and is STILL cancer free. The first doctor (Onc Doc) she had gave her 6 months and she didn't like what he said and how he treated her so she fired his *ss. (quote). She got a doctor that was willing to fight the fight and well, the rest is history. She's over 70 now. Tell your Uncle to go for it and let him know I am cheering him on.
  7. Welcome and so sorry to hear you lost your mom and now facing yet another dx.s with your Uncle. I'm the Connie B that Donna was talking about. I honestly know of many families that have been hit hard and heavy with lung cancer. It honestly sucks no matter what kind of cancer it is, but everyone here sure hates lung cancer. My mom and sister were dx.d 3 months apart from one another, It hit my family very hard. They died 8 months apart from one another. I am now dealing with my mom's sister (74) my aunt who is going to be having surgery this Monday. And yes, it's lung cancer. I know what you mean when you say, GOD are you out there? Yep, been there, done that! Please know we all understand and if you need an ear, we're all here for you, and so am I. I have friends that had/have bone mets and they are still here 3+ years later. One of them is on this board. (Wendy). So, don't give up hope. It's not over till that fat lady sings, don't forget!
  8. Oh Sweetie, (((((((((((((((CHRISTINE)))))))))))))))) I am so sorry your feeling sad today. May this day pass softly and may it pass with warm and loving memories of Brad.

  10. I pm'd and recieved a pm from Carole about 3 weeks ago and she was very busy with family and friends. She was going to send a message to the board when she had free time. Bucky is off visiting her mom and having a ball. She just sent me an email about 5 days ago.
  11. Hi Sarah! Well I am one that always says, lets not second guess what aches or pain are these days. Peace of mind is worth all the gold in China and anywhere else you want to find it. YES, make an appointment. Better to be safe then sorry. This little bugger (LC) can pop up at anytime and anywhere! Please know I am hopeing it's nothing, but let the doctor determine that. Check back with us when you find out what's going on! Sending good vibes your way. (((((((((Sarah))))))))

  16. I had what they call a Myxoma Tumor in my left atrium. Most myxoma's are not cancerous but they do need to be removed. Could your mom have a Myxoma Tumor? Or are the doctor's saying it's her lung cancer that has spread? Read my story. You can click on it below. Good luck, Connie
  17. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RANDY!! (sorry I'm late on the B-day wishes) I wish you many many many many more moons my friend! Happy 29th BIRTHDAY!!!!

Isn't that a great thing? Who would have thought? I never thought I would live see 44 let alone 56! I'm so glad you have checked in. 21. Hi Gail and Welcome to LCSC. Sorry you have the need to find us, but I'm glad we're here for you. Well you and I have a few things in common. I to was dx.d with Adneo. AND I'm 56 years young as well. I'm very happy to hear your responding so well to Tarceva. HOORAY! We have several of our members that are doing well with it too. I hope you'll stay with us, we're good group of people!
  22. Very NICE PICTURES!! Congratulations Again Katie, and Thanks Denise for sharing the pictures. You two look like had a very nice time!
  23. Hey Jeanette, Wow that was quick, and how nice to hear from you. You can post in the LC SURVIVORS FORUM, or the NSCLC FORUM or the GENERAL FORUM. Most everyone here read all the forums. So where ever you feel comfy. This is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, but sadly enough you wouldn't know it. They don't advertise like other cancers do. But, I won't go into that, we all get pretty disgusted with how lung cancer gets passed over. I'm very glad you came back and I hope you'll stick around and get to know us, and let us know you better. I'm also glad to hear your doing chemo. It's a HELL of a battle, but it's DOABLE and this disease is treatable. Sorry to hear about your ear. Maybe something warm on it would unplug it? Might need to talk to your doc about it.
  24. Hello Jeanette, I was just looking over some of the messages from our new members and I noticed you hadn't checked back in with us. I hope your doing okay, and I hope you'll let us know how your doing. We tend to take a special interest in our fellow lung cancer survivors. I also wish to share with you the Richard Bloch from H & R Bloch had 6 months to live. He lived 23 years and did NOT die from cancer.
  25. That's okay, I sometimes can't open things either but others can!
