    That is why i love this board cause there is healthy debate sometimes and no right or wrong! well deterermined (again NOT sure what the original question was) BUT if you have some end of life questions you want to ask, you are more then welcome to PM me? Not sure I can offer too much in site BUT i can try to help.

    Sorry that you have to go through this. BUT you know what your NOT going to be able to change your mother in laws mind at all. She heard what the doctors had to say so she can technically believe whatever she wants, it could make it harder for her but you know what I believe there was a chance when they said there wasn't and my dad was so so happy when I said oh well we go for a 2nd opinion right and he smiled and was like right he wanted that he wanted someone to NOT make him feel like he had no hope! I do not think HE thought he would end up surviving but I think it eased his mind knowing someone was still willing to look on the brighter side. So allow her that but she knows....I knew but I tried to NOT think about that one outcome cause it was too negative for me to focus on, cause you know what NOTHING prepares you for a death of a loved one NOTHING. so why drive yourself nuts when you can be enjoying the time as if it was any other day.

    Kathy honestly when I go on here i go on at work mostly (bad yes i know) so i try to go through as many as possible, losse my place sometimes or soemtimes do not have any time to respond at all! I am here for you at any point you need me to be!

    As far as his tiredness have you talk to the dotors about it and maybe ways to try to boost his energy?

    Okay - I am at a loss - any suggestions?

    My heart breaks for him! and her but it is truly hard! Maybe you pull him aside and say dad your doing and awesome job BUT please....sometimes she is not going to want to eat or drink, plead with her to try to eat/drink something but take it easy on her casue i am SURE she is frustarted as well!! I rememebr my dad i brougth him a nice lobster roll in the hosptial and he islike i wish you didn't waste your money on this i wish i was hungry for this (dad's favorite FAVORITE) I cut it up in 4's and said dad i could care less about buying it i wanted to have lunch with you and bring you something special! he wantedso bad to eat that and i knew he coudl only have a few bites!!! Tell your dad enjoy just having a "lunch" with her! and remember if she could she would!

    No it was in the prayer book they gave us and when we saw it it was all about him. My dad was not a mushy person and was an extremely hard hard worker!!! worked for GE for over 35 years...3rd shift...overtime anytime. They had to shut down his part of GE the day of his wake, he worked day shifts into night shift so they all knew him. It was GREAT the stories they had about him were amazing. and the love so many had for him was amazing!! these burley union workers crying their eyes out....i was consoling some. hahaha like it is ok. They miss him terribly. they put a plaque up in his work space dedicating his desk area (he was an inspector of GE aircraft engines) they STILL to this day have not cleaned off his desk...they find it to hard to. so sad. Thank you katie for aksing me to post it again! I do love that saying and makes me think of him very much!

    shelly I am sorry for EVERYTHING! TRUST ME I have questioned faith and all that! BUT my dad never did. My dad was a true Billy Joel fan (he seriously thought he wrote all his songs about his life) and I think Billy Joel was his unofficial god on the side of his roman catholic faith and as he said...his bible...ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG!

    I think about stuff like that A LOT!!! my mom's life....pardon my French has shi_! Horrible the things she has had to endure? I do not get it I get mad FOR her but that is natural reaction. I have to believe now my dad watches over me constantly...hopefully except when I am you know going the bathroom or doing something maybe he shouldn't be seeing but I have to have faith in that too. that he only peers in when he can and when something won't frighten him. haha

    But honestly you have every right to be mad! and jay you too every right. it is also your choice what you want to believe anymore. BUT I chose to believe in a higher being cause my dad has to be hanging with him, and hanging with Mike and Carol's mom and Gianni and Fran's mom and Christina hubby (my dad was a BIG nature fan I am sure they are talking it UP!) Renee's mom, jay your mom they have to have met...you have to believe that!!! I do. I have to many weird instances to NOT believe their is a higher power and why he takes our loved ones some way before their time or makes people sick or makes us suffer....I agree with debaroo....to make us stronger people...to make us realize when you think your life is horrible there is a person out there that is way way worse off so think of that!

    I believe we are all put on this earth to learn from one another every person you meet changes your life for the better or sometimes worse, everyone has an effect in some way...I am glad I found all of you cause it honestly was one of the best learning experience I have ever had!
