Candy that is AWFUL!!!!! where does he go??? (since i know we are massholes) Dear god i would have started ripping some heads off, people are so amazing sometimes, this is health care know your shi_!! As far as the shot thing...my mom was the same way and they told her she was going to have to how is this do and iv too.....ummm what home iv kits what??? no medical training they i am assuming were going to set up a line BUT so much can go wrong with that!!! it is so so dumb, and health care has gotten so lazy for the little things. like sure we can do a spiral ct scan of your whole body but oh a themometer reading....oh here here is one if it over a certain level wait 3 hours for me to come back and i will tell you to repeat since i have been gone so long and the temperature MIGHT be different now. it is just so sad. honestly. sorry you had to deal with that.

Shelly if ONLY you could read my journal entry last night!!! I am so pissed it is insane. sometimes when i am by myself i cry my eyes out cause i can not comprehend life. i do not get it...see i thought my dad "paid his dues" he had a massive heart attack and mouth and throat cancer BOTH which he was a survivor of, so why should this kill him??? why why did he have to get cancer AGAIN???? and my poor mom her life has shi_ massively loosing everyone at a young age and orphan and then loosing your husband??? I do not get it?
Obviously anger is not the solution but we all have feelings that we can NOT supress. I think it is good to get the anger out cause i pent it up too long and until after he was gone.
Most of you still have your loved ones here, PLEASE PLEASE Give them a HUGE squeeze for me, cause every day i dream about being able to give him just one more hug to sum up all that should have been said.

i think the chemo all depend my dad used a carbo/taxol then a taxtotere chemo. i would also maybe look into Iressa!

some are 5 year survivors.....some are not, it all depends. BUT i honestly believe a positive outlook and determination (which by your name it seems you have) can make a WORLD of difference.

My dad did cold turkey too. he had his last cigarette on the strecher before going into the ambulance for his heart attack. the emt's were like are you crazy, he said i am never smoking again, please let me enjoy this last one. he took a few puffs and that was it. a month stay in a hosipital bed will also help you not smoke.

Cheryl your post touched me a lot. One of the things that has been plaguing my mind is my dad and his fear of death. That is what makes me upset sometimes cause I know he felt just like you and that makes me want to cry! that is why i wish he got to come on this board more and open up about that. I unfortunately cannot say anything profound here. I have no IDEA how you must be feeling and i wish i could make you feel 100% better!!
But with THAT said. I agree with others on here....you are not done yet miss Cheryl....you’re typing right? now last time I checked only living people usually use the PC. any one of us could die tomorrow. you could get hit by a car tomorrow and guess what your death certificate is not going to say cause of death lung cancer. No one knows when his or her time is up. you miss Cheryl your time is not now. you continue to fight!!!

I can NOT believe i have ot seen this till now!! Happy Belated B-day to your hubby!!!! My dad's b-day was the 8th so hopefully they both had some strawberry shortcake together. my dad fav cake is rum cake. so i hope he got that!!!

I am VERY sorry to hear about Gene's passing! I think your friends advice was right. and i can sympathize with you wanted to ask a question or say something to him and now he is not there. I do that myself with my dad! I am here for you if you need me. Again please accept my condolences

This is based off anniemacs post in family/caregiver forum.
I was curious and i wanted to know all the side effects too! Honestly like feeling sick, weight gain, etc all of it. I thought this will be helpful for people who may want to kick the habit BUT need more then a loved one dx to do it? Hope this post catches on! Thanks you guys!

Faylene that is awesome and as a dancer it is so amazing to have something like that dedicated. I am actually involved in a 3 day benefit show for my high school director that passes away from bone cancer 2 years ago. We are tryign to save out old high schools drama, band and altheltics department so it will be an amazing honor for him too and am very excited to do so. and Alumni tribute show no less too.
