I'm so thankful for this list....I might have drowned in my own terror if not for the camaraderie shared here in this forum. I've been reading and learning for a couple months now. Lucky for me...a clean scan has given me a 3 mth reprieve...I'll be watching and waiting with so many other LC sufferers. Please accept me into your fold...I can see your member numbers are rising daily... count me in.

If I Could Catch a Rainbow:

If I could catch a rainbow, I would do it just for you, And share with you its beauty, On the days you’re feeling blue. If I could build a mountain, You call your very own, A place to find serenity, A place to be alone. If I could take your troubles, I would toss them in the sea, But all these things I’m finding, Are impossible for me. I cannot build a mountain, Or catch a rainbow fair, But let me be what I know best A friend that’s always there. Author Unknown

Mayos,

I'm glad you found us.

It's great to hear about your scan. Now take a break from being scared for awhile. No sense in "borrowing trouble", you don't need any more anyway and the interest rates are a bi**!

I've found the "one day at a time" thing works real well for me. I can't be all wigged out about next week or next month when I'm using all my time and energy to focus on today.

Consider yourself counted!!! Fear and Hope-we must walk with them hand in hand. Welcome, and lets not just consider it a reprieve, but rather consider it to be the 'first three months of the rest of your life'!!! Wishing you continued good health and we would love to know your story, when you are up to sharing it. In the meantime, welcome to the boards.

Thank you for your kind replies. I didn't realize I gave so little info about myself. So here goes:.............I've been married 25 yrs to a great guy (Charlie). He's taken good care of me through my surgery and while I was traipsing down that ugly chemo road. I have no children...but I'm close to Charlie's 2 kids from his first marriage. We also have 5 'great' grandkids I'm pretty wrapped up in. My story is not typical. I've been SOB since '98...and was finally dx with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension in 2000. "PPH" is a presently incurable lung/heart disorder.....and only 2 in one million people come down with this. Technically it is an endothelial disorder in the artery that runs between the heart and lungs. There's a new oral drug out (Tracleer)...and I started taking it along with diuretics and calcium channel blockers. My experience with Tracleer was not as good as my other friends who'd begun taking it. So I kept complaining I was still short of breath. Last June my cardio here in Ohio decided to do a left heart cath to see if any blockages might be causing my continued discomfort. Well....the chest x-ray during my hospital stay showed something...hence the cat scan and petscan concurred. By Sept I was having lung cancer surgery and here I am. After much research...to my knowledge...I'm the only known patient with PPH and lung cancer simultaneously. I'm an anomaly my friends. That's my story....thanks for sticking around to read it.....................mayos

Hey there Mayos.

Welcome, and clean scans are a good thing. You need not ask for acceptance from this group. As you will find, this is a wonderful place to "hang out". You probably have some experiences under your belt that others on the board will find useful. I look forward to hearing more from you. Take care,

David P.

Welcome, Mayos!

Now you have clean scans you can remember that cancer, while it is a part of your life, is not the sole focus of your life.

Thank the Lord for He is good.

I am glad you were accidentally diagnosed early.

It happens to too few.

May you have many more clean scans in your future.

Warmly,

MaryAnn
