    TAnn update

Hey TAnn, So glad to hear from you. Praying pain management can figure something out for you. Did they discuss draining any fluid. My dad had that done and it relieved so much pressure and pain. I don't know your exact situation and if it's even possible for you , but it's worth it to ask. Good luck and take care. You are always in my prayers. Love, Mare
  3. Hi Tammy, You always hear the bad things about chemo. I think it depends on the kind, amount and each person is sooo different. I had 8 rounds of chemo, and had radiation at the same time. My radiation was way hard. I also believe it saved my life. I tolerated chemo extremely well. I was tired, but a far as the stomach, I was only sick two times. Chemo is way worth it whether you get sick or not. What is a few months of sickness and pain if you live. Good luck to you and take care. Mare
  4. No progression is a good thing. Take care and good luck w/ the chemo. Mare

Thanks for opening Cindi, my first visit even though I've been around for awhile. I agree we all need a few shots. Love, Mare
  6. Thanks for the update. Thinking and praying for you Mr. & Mrs. Addie. Miss you! Love, Mare
  7. I agree with Cindi. Totally unacceptable. Find out if he ordered a Petscan, that might eliminate all the other testing, unless things are going on that you don't know. Ask for copies of pathology reports, xray,CT etc. so you can read for yourself. Good luck and take care. Mare
  8. Hi Connie, My sister several yrs. ago had a rare strange disease. Long long story, but eventually she had to have her spleen out. She had floating nodules all over her lungs for two yrs. that they kept checking. After her surgery within one yr.the nodules disappeared. Strange but true. There theory at the Univ. of PA hosp. was that they were little infections floating around. So who knows the true definition of nodules .

    nurses

Nurses are the best. They run the hospitals. My dad passed in 99 from cancer and his hospice nurse was the best. God bless them all and give them strength.
  10. Hi Welcome, Sorry for what you are going through. I had IIIA and have been clean for 2 1/2 yrs. I was 50 yrs. old at the time and in good health other than the LC. Hope mom does well. This is a good place for support and info. Take care. Mare
  11. Hi Cindi, Thanks. She had the same surgeon as I did. Sometimes they can tell by the shape etc. He called mine before the bio. Sometimes I think that they look and this stuff sooo much. But he did say he thought but not sure. Mare
  12. Here's the story. One of my best girl friends in the whole world was dx w/ squamous stage 1a in 2001. Had upper right lobeoctmy no rad. or chemo. Two months ago had heart attack put in one stent. Two weeks later had chest pain and went to ER. They did CT on lungs and found nodule in bottom left lobe. No bio.as of yet, but surgeon believes same stage but different type of non-small cell a new sight. Has anyone ever heard of this? And even though she has the worse luck she also has the best by having systoms both times. And both times finding it sooo early. Because of the heart attack and condition of her lungs she is still getting tested to see if surgery is even an option.
  13. Heather so sorry about hubby. The shock is overwhelming, but you've come to a great place for info. and support. Good luck to you and yours. Mare

  18. Oxycodone is time released, which help pain control. It is not morphine. It is a very strong pain killers, but it keeps the drug in your system and you only have to take it very 12 hrs. instead of every 4 to 6. With some people it helps with the stomach problems of taking to many pills. Good luck and take care. Mare
  19. Hi Bunny, Sounds like a great time. My nephew was signed with the Philadelphia Kixx's(pro soccer)in November. Went to see his first game with about 20 family members. When they announced him it was one of the proud moments of my life. He started playing soccer when her was 4 because his lungs were so bad. Dr. told my brother to get him running and he hasn't been off the field yet. Bawled my eyes out. No lung problems at all now and graduated Temple Univ. w/a 3.8 average. Go Steve. Mare
  20. I saw it and it wasn't very informative. Michael Fox play a guy who paid off someone so he wouldn't get the placebo in a LC drug trail. I thought it was weird. He supposely had stage iv. And I like Boston Legal. Denny Crane!!!
  21. Hi Irisheyes, I dont't know how it will effect his treatment, but the cancer will never go into remission if he's still smoking. My dad smoked to the day he died of panreatic cancer. There not to much you can do if he won't stop. Take care and good luck.
