  6. my condolences, thoughts and prayers to you for the loss of your dad and the condition of your mom... Wish i knew what to say but no words can really express things the way you want them to be said... Often when faced with trials and tribulations of this nature have often had talks with god about things. grab a fave beverage and go outside some nice night and tell him everything on your mind to kinda clear your thoughts... I used to even cuss and then apologize for it when I was mad at things..
  7. one of our former members here who was very active introduced me to an organization he used to help out when he could as a private pilot Always supported them and their work and tried to help promote them when necessary and they might be able to help you out.. Here is link to their site so it might be worth trying if you have not tried them yet... http://www.angelflight.com/ this is the best I can do and hope they can help out in some way possible!!

  15. welcome and thanks for taking time to intro yourself to us.....
  16. also if treatment has not started that affects things also.. if undergoing treatment let Doctors know Like Katie said.... a lot of times people react out of fear and what not... when treatment starts it is like something is being done to fight the cancer.. I was in similar situation with my wife when she was dealing with it.... granted we were further along in life but same scenario....
  17. a good tip for dealing with the anger issue...... take a few eggs outside and throw them as hard as you can against a tree or fence if possible.... it is a transfer of aggression method. if not too late in the evening primal yelling also helps.. If your looking fora little more personal and quiet long talks with God under the stars at night are great... you can get everything off your mind and so can she...this works foe many more issues as well.... has gotten me through some hard times.... also if you take 6 eggs you can spell out cancer on them and then throw them ...
  18. dropped Katie a note so she is probably working on it now.. always remember your never alone here .. post up when you want and need to .. someone is always around to help out or get the help your looking for.... I am going on about 9 or 10 years here so... I know how you feel from caregiver side of the fight.....
  19. Cindy MY wife dealt with this same issue when Tarcave first hit the market years ago.. was brand new to LC people... about 8 and half years ago.... she had the rash and the rash indicates it is working. rash was probably worst part of taking the drug as I recall... she also was scared to go out and did some great make up work when needed.. the rash does not always affect areas that are seen of course... her secret was Nivea with the blue cap and good non allergenic make up.... the decision is yours and yours alone to make but we are always here fro support
  20. first and foremost thought is welcome to place no one wants to be but is glad they are.. applaud you for your decision to not go mainstream treatment.. it is a bold one .. you might want to peruse this forum off the top of my head and see what info might be available... http://lungevity.org/l_community/viewfo ... &start=64..

  23. Many of us here remember Dean Carl. Many newer members mabe don't.Dean was one of our very supportive and inspirational members here and was blessed with much wisdom. We lost Dean a while back but his wisdom still exists here in the Path Less Traveled Forum. This is a poem he wrote himself back in March2004. Cancer! Oh, how we fear that word! I say to you, "I have cancer" And I watch you, refuse to hear. I say to you, "I have cancer" And I watch you, bury me with your eyes. Yes, I have CANCER. Please, Please hear the word. But do not lay me in my grave, At least, Not just yet. Oh, I know this disease Will someday take my life. The chances of that are, Shall we say, Rather high. Yes, I know that which will take me, From this world. But not today! But then again, That's all I've ever had. Today. And to tell the truth, (which I've been known to do at times) That's all any of us ever have. Today. So today, I think, I'll get up early, And watch the sun set fire to the sky. Today, I think, I'll tell my wife, "I love you", at least a hundred times. Today, I think, I'll find a way to laugh so hard, I'll give myself a stomach ache. Today, I think, I'll go to the cliffs above the ocean And ask old man Ocean what he knows that I don't. Today, I think, I'll climb down into the abyss, And spit in the Devil's eye. Today I'll do so many wonderful things. And those I don't get done today. I'll do tomorrow when tomorrow becomes today. Yes, I have cancer Yes, I will die from it someday. But not today. Not today.
