Earlier this afternoon the temperature here was 92. It's cloudy and 87 now with loud, loud thunder. I just returned from my husband's retirement (from UCF) party. It was a lovely party, wonderful food, and nice gifts. It also was his second retirement, as he retired from the National Science Foundation in 2004. No, neither of us have a clue as to how he plans to spend his time. Muriel

HE SOLD CHEMO DRUGS????????? On the corner? On the internet? To whom did he sell them? And, if he is a reputable pharmceutical sales representative, that doesn't mean he knows much about cancer. Both of my chemo experiences were with 3 - 4 person oncology groups. My followup care now is at MDAnderson-Orlando. You can get good care from both types of groups. Muriel

My uncle Cliff was a captain in the "Army/Air Force" during WWII. My great great grandfather, Nicholas Heinen (1811 - 1874), served in the Union Army for a week or two during the Souix Uprising in New Ulm, MN (August 1862).

As you may know, we've had a lot of rain in Florida - especially along the east coast near Ann and Lynn. Do you think we should put Patti and Bruce back to work on the ark? It might be safer for the trip from CA to HI, too. Just an idea. Muriel

OK, so we'll meet in Orlando and then fly to Becky's. My house will be fine. I think Lynn and Ann are younger than Judy and I, so I suggest that we let one of them find the cute pilot. (You could go out to OIA and kidnap one.) Becky, can we land on your property? Do you have a runway or just a big field? Will you and friends be out there with flashlights? I'm really looking forward to this trip. I hope that Bailey doesn't get sick during the flight. Muriel

Ann, if we fly, what is our destination? Did you mean way up there to the northern states? We do need to do something to get this started. If we fly, who will be DRIVING the plane? Or are we all meeting in Orlando, as Judy suggested? Just where in Orlando? My house, Disney World, or MDACC? Do you think the rain will have stopped by the time you get here? Muriel

It started raining in Orlando last night about 8 or 9. It stopped sometime during the night and this morning I hoped to get to the store before we got more rain. The rain started again as I was parking my car at the groc. store and hasn't stopped yet. Sometimes it's pretty heavy. Amy (on WESH2) predicts rain all week. Our grass is happy. Our dog is wet and happy. We have footprints all over the kitchen floor and I'm not so happy. Let's hope Becky waits 'till the rain stops. Muriel

I like that plan, Lynn, 'cuz even tho. I'd like to see Key West, that long bridge looks scary to me. I'm packed and ready to go. How long will it take Becky to get to Oviedo? No, Ann, it didn't rain in Orlando as far as I know. We had thunder for an hour or so in Oviedo, but no rain. We sure need it. Today we have cloudy skies. We're still trying to adjust to the loss of our almost 13 year old Labrador Retriever last week. Cushing's disease finally got the best of her. Bailey, we've found, isn't much of an alarm clock. As for Becky, I don't know. She better get here quick. I think she registered for classes again. Good luck to everyone having scans. Muriel

At least we have some idea about when you'll be here in FL. I think RY is closest to you, unless you want to pick up the Canadians first. I think they're at the border, but not sure just where along the border and it's pretty long. I hope someone gets on the bus pretty soon. I'm anxious to hear what they have to say about all the remodeling, etc. I'll remain here in Oviedo, waiting. Muriel

I'm with Kasey and Judy. I'd love to have a driver, available whenever needed. Also love to have the money that allows that. Muriel
