My Dad is stage 4 Squamous cell and his first line chemo failed - he is now on Tarceva. Dawn

Dad just been prescribed Tarceva - had to get it on a private script tho -- totally gutted that he has to pay for this. Best wishes Dawn -

Thanks - let me know how you get on. Everything is always such a battle isnt it - I wish life was more simple !!! They told me that because my Dad has Squamous cell NSCLS and is an ex-smoker(30yrs ago he gave up)that it wouldnt help him - I have read posts here tho of similar cases to my Dad and Tarceva has helped !! As soon as I mention Tarceva as treatment for my Dad the Onc says no straightaway - I think it all boils down to cost. It is licensed in Scotland, so why not the rest of us ?? Dawn -

I dont think that this life and experience can be all for nothing and then at the end lights out and nothing - what would be the point. I believe in the teachings of Jesus and I think that faith is a very personal and wonderful experience on its own. I think that no matter what religion we follow, there will be that 'paradise' after we leave our bodies behind. Keep strong in your faith. Dawn

I live a 7 hour drive away from my Dad, it is so hard when they are so ill. My Dad lives with my Sister so I know that he is very well looked after, but its just not the same as having him next door, and although we speak every day by phone its no substitute really. I try to fly to see him once a week and I cherish the time we can spend together. Best wishes Dawn
