Seen my oncologist today for ct scan results. He said scans showed no evidence of disease. Still NED. It was 5 years ago I finished my treatment. They never let you off the hook completely tho. He said spot on my pancrease is still there and hasnt changed but he doesnt think its cancer. I dont remember him even mentioning the spot last year. He also said some of my lymph nodes were swollen but that it might be from the bronchitis I had. He didnt seem to concerned about the spot or lymph nodes. Any way it all sounded like good news.

Also I might mention when you leave the hospital that alot of pain meds cause severe constipation.I dont remember anyone at the hospital telling me of this. Try to stay ahead of it with stool softners. I never had any idea constipation could be so painful.

Hi Mihalo and welcome. To be honest the pain was pretty severe for a few days but they will get that under control with pain meds. I was recovering faster than I thought I would until they had to go back in a couple of weeks later to stop some bleeding. My 2nd surgery was much more painful than the 1st but they say mine was kind of a isolated incident.I was very short of breath right at first and wondered if I had made the right decision but with in a matter of a few weeks it had improved tremendously. Im still nowhere near where I was when I had two lungs but Im not on oxygen and lead a fairly normal life.Your left lung has 2 lobes and provides 40% of your lung funtion whereas your right has 3 and provides 60%.There are a few more 1 lungers who visit here and Im sure you will be hearing from them shortly.My prayers are with you and your children at this difficult time for you.

Judy and Bud I hope you both the best with your scan results next week. Sorry about your concussion Judy in Mi. Sunday I had another first. I was visiting a friend at his home out in the country when out of nowhere the house shook a little and I heard a rumble. We thought something in town exploded. When I got home my wife told me that there was a earthquake. I dont ever remember of hearing of a earthquake in Nebraska before.Around here blizzards and tornadoes are the biggest threat.

Thank you Katie,Judy,Linda and Kasey. The radiologist said today he thinks the spots are just bruises where she hurt her ribs a few months ago so that is good news. I was so worried it was breast cancer that had met to the lung or vice versa.

Kristen,Im sorry cancer has entered into your life also. Sometimes life can seem overwhelming doesnt it? Prayer said for you and your father at these difficult times.

Yesterday my sister had a lumpectomy for a small spot on her breast. The surgeon aftewards said the margins were good and the 1 lymph node was cancer free. So it sounded like good news as far as getting all the cancer out. Today his nurse called her at home and told her to go to the local hospital for a ct scan. The surgeon saw questionable spot or spots on lung or lungs from the presurgery xray from the lumpectomy. My sister wasnt sure if she said spot or spots or lung or lungs. We went from thinking we had good news to maybe worst than the original dx. Prayers are welcome that the results will be no cancer or mets. I have heard sometime xrays will show spots for no reason. I hope this is the case.

My cough stopped immediatley after my surgery,also did my bad earache that everyone told me was not related to my cancer. Prayer said for a successful surgery on Monday!

Has anyone else noticed their sense of smell is much more sensitive since going thru cancer treatment? I noticed 5 years ago when I came home from the hospital that my wifes potpouri took my breath away and she removed it all from home. Since then there have been many things that just seem to make me short of breath. Last night I put scrupping bubbles in the toilet. I could smell that aroma all thru the house so I removed it. Also sometime my wife uses some spray to remove wringles from clothing,that really does a job on me. Also I can always tell when out neihbor lady is outside. I can smell her cigarette. Is it just me or have any of you noticed your sense of smell is much more sensitive since treatment?

Hi everyone, Hope you all have a nice weekend.I dont know how many of you bank online but I think I will check mine a little more often. I was at walmart 2 differant times on Friday and both times I had a little problem getting my debit card to work. I had to swipe it a couple of times to get it to work and one time the checkout lady had to do it punch in numbers to get it to go thru. Anyway last night I was checking my account online and noticed it double charged me on both purchases. I went out today and they refunded my money but they said that was a rare incident.(Two times in one day,rare?) Anyway I just thought I would let you know so that maybe you might wanna check your account if you have trouble with card.

I also have it Carol but mine started about 10 years ago. I also have a lot of hearing loss,mostly the higher pitch sounds. I quess I just kind of got used to it and dont pay it much mind anymore.
