    Update on Z...

Congratulations on your successful opertion and cancer free status Z. You know, I have always entertained the notion that I never had cancer at all but had to go along with the surgery and chemo just in case they were right. I mean, after all, I had to believe the doctors and the technology, right? I never had any first hand knowledge of my cancer at all. I felt fine and had no symptoms. I don't dwell on it too much though. I am 99.9999% they were right. Don M
  4. TAnn: I sure wish you did not have to start the New Year out with this load on you shoulders. You have my prayers. don M

  8. Good news Trish. ihope the steroids work quickly. Don M
  9. Welcome: I hope your dad responds well to treatment. there is a good chance that he will have quality years ahead of him. When it comes to cancer, denial isn't all that bad of a state of mind. Doctor says, "you will die of cancer in 6 months". Patient says, "No I won't". If it wasn't for denial maybe the patient would have been dead in 6 months. Don M
  10. Hi Lori; if I was aasured of a reaonable chance of success, I would take the risk to improve my quality of life. I would probably go to a major center like Fred Hutchinson Center in Seattle. I hope you and your mom feel reassured after the presurgical appointment. Don M
  11. Holly: I hope your mom is at ease and that you can be at ease with whatever comes. Your mom, your dad and you have my continued prayers. don M

  18. Lori: I can't find anything specific to removing necrotic tissue from the brain either. There is a lot of discussion on what it is and how it occurs. I suppose it would be better to have it removed though. I think brain sugery is not as risky as having a lung removed. I am sure the surgeon or the nurse will tell you about the lovenox. Before I had any surgery, I was always told not to take blood thinners. Just remember to ask about the lovenox. Your mom has my prayers. Don M
