    Nursing Home

Angie-- I am so sorry to read your post; I know how difficult this is for you, your mom, your sisters, and your father. I hope that you all find the proper help and support that you need to make these last few months ones that you all and your dad can enjoy together. Sincerely, Melinda
  3. Cindy-- From yet another teacher--CONGRATULATIONS! It is such a wonderful vocation! I am thrilled to read that Tom's colonoscopy went well--and, like Fay, am hoping that you are given an accurate (yet, not scary) reason for his elevated liver enzymes. Please keep us posted on both fronts! Melinda
  4. Oh, Paddy-- Wonderful, indeed. I am so glad. Melinda
  5. Melinda

    Thanks

Ray-- I am so glad to see your post; I've been wondering how you were doing. Rest up--and keep us updated on your progress! Melinda
  6. What wonderful news; brava and congratulations!!! Melinda
  7. Carleen-- I cried upon reading your post, as it is evident how much pain you and Keith are in--and how scared you both are. Geoff's mom had 12+ mets to the brain--and had WBR (she did NOT have any real side effects, thank goodness). Her mets were reduced to 4 very small ones as Geoff posted on the following link: http://lchelp.com/community/viewtopic.p ... 5703f94074 This month--when we were trying to figure out something else--she had another MRI taken--and those 4 were still shrinking!!! There ARE people who have "joined" the "empty head club" on this board (and are still around to tell about it)--please take heart from them. Brain mets are scary (what part of this beast is not?!?)--but they are not a death sentence. ((((HUG)))) Melinda
  8. Greg-- I am so very sorry about your wife. Thank you for the information; I will pass it on immediately. Melinda
  9. Dawn, We are so sorry for your loss. Your father certainly was a great fighter--and he gave a great deal of inspiration to those of us here on the board. He will be dearly missed. Melinda and Geoff

Thank you, Elaine. We miss him, too. Melinda and Geoff
  11. Dear all, The spinal tap, itself, went as expected (no mistakes--no infections), thank goodness. Thank your for all your kind thoughts and prayers for Geoff and his mom. Please keep them coming--they are helping us more than I am able to articulate. Melinda
  12. I just wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes. My little sister managed to get to Texas--and back--just fine. I hope that everyone on this dear board---and their friends and family--were left unharmed in the wake of Ivan. Melinda
  13. Beth-- Hope you are feeling better and that the nasty thrush, or yeast infection, has been taken care of. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Melinda and Geoff

  16. Renee, We are so sorry to read about the loss of your husband. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. Melinda and Geoff
  17. Grumpy-- Seeing your post (Thank you, Ry.) brought a smile to my face after an extremely difficult day. Thank you. I am thrilled to pieces that you are doing well--and love that wise 7 year old. Melinda
  18. Paddy-- Glad to read the most recent update--that David is in such fine spirits. You and your entire family are in our thoughts and prayers. Melinda and Geoff
  19. No such luck--she is on the first floor of a two story house. Material things--well, they're nice but expendable. I'm just worried about my sister's physical and emotional well being...
  20. Shelly-- My mom has battled breast cancer twice (one time in each breast)--and won. The second time she opted to have a double masectomy. As others have said the procedure is no fun--but is your sister's nodes are clean that is GREAT news. Nonetheless, I know how scared you and your sister must be at this time. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions (and I am sure my mom would be happy to talk to your sister, too). (((HUG))) Melinda
