  3. I wish I had someone tell me some of these ideas 19 yrs ago! My last was 2 weeks overdue. Her father and I had seperated and I was waiting til she was born to get the divorce. His Birthday was June 6th (NO WAY DID I WANT HER BORN ON HIS BIRTHDAY), on June 3rd I mowed the yard, an acre, trimmed bushes and raked all day!!! Water broke that night and she was born the next day. The ball sounds easier! Ha!

    Into the light

Thank you for sharing. As a nurse I have been with many people who pass on. Some are awake and alert up to the very end and some of the things they do and say tell me there is no doubt that Heaven is a perfect, peaceful and wonderful place. Cindy
  5. Beth, I am so sorry. That is all I can say. You know we are praying for strength to get you thru what is coming. He is at peace with our Lord. Cindy

  11. Well I keep going-like the eveready battery bunny. The weather is slowing me down a bit but that is OK. My husbands father went into the hospital Mon with what they thought was flu. Turns out the chest xray showed up cancer. CT was done and it is in the liver and several other places. I do not know what kind it is yet, they want to do a liver biopsy but he has already said he will not treat it so I am unsure what is next. He is 82. My husband Tom is not doing well. He says he is but he is holding it in and I can see it is taking a toll on him. When I find out more I will update. Love Cindy
  12. I have never had the topotecan. Look below to see what I have had. Good luck, Cindy
  13. I have taken care of patients in a home health situation and I know that some of them had little to no ins. They could not get some of the tests needed to keep on top of their cancer. Example: a CT of the chest is about 1,000.00. Unless they are symptomatic the hospital will not do it because of the cost. Now if they have symptoms such as coughing blood (and they have been diag. with lung cancer) they would ok the CT. I have ins. and I get the CT done every 3-4 months because it is a preventative thing--PLUS--my ins pays well. I know from working in hospitals that people with ins. get their tests done as a preventitive, and sad to say a lot of hospitals will not test until symptoms present if there is not payment up front or they have ins. Not all hospitals are the same. I wish we all could get the treatment we need when we need it, it just is not that way. Cindy
  14. Nancy-PCI is prophylactic cranial irradiation. It is done to the whole brain. I do not know if the amounts you listed are normal tho. Ask your Dr about that. I saw the string on the WBR and it is scary. Best thing to calm your nerves is ask the Dr if the amount you were given could cause those side effects. Good Luck, Cindy
  15. The saying Love me--Love my dog! I have ALWAYS had animals. Growing up there was Toffee, a pom., he died at about 16, I was 18. Later came cats, Pooh, Christopher Robin, then Bootsie-she lived 15 yrs, then had to be put down. Then 6 more cts-Bobbie and Brandy, Romeo and Juliet, Homie and Keta. All have died now except Juliet and Keta got upity when we moved and decided she wanted a house where there were not so many cats! She is still living but with neighbors about 4 houses away. We got a Lab mix Cassie when she was 1 yr. and she got cancer at age 12 and had surgery but did not make it out. That was in 2003. In 2000 we got Roxy the PUG!! I was diag. in Feb 2001 and she became my sidekick since then. Where I am she is. If I go to N. Car. she flys in the plane with me. If I go to Salt Lake City (sis) she again flies in the plane at my feet. Roxy is 5 yrs old now and we have her 3 pups. I am selling them-SO HARD!!
  16. Bill-I am so sorry about the side effects. This disease's treatment can cause awful side effects. Glad to hear NED!!
  17. Don-typical male! I would have about 50 lbs. REMOVED!!
  18. Drug companies-who knows! I am surprised tho that since the meds were in your home they would want them back. I have always been under the impression once they were given out they would not take them back. Tampering-you know. Not to say that you would do that but medical companies see so many law suits that I would think they would tell you to dispose of any unused meds. Cindy
  19. Please tell her we are praying and she is missed
