  2. Pam, sorry your sister has gone through so much already. We do know that radiation is used effectively on bone mets where there is extreme pain and/or threat to bone integrity. Best to you and your sister. Don

  14. Welcome! At this point, I can only tell you that there are many survivors of lung cancer -- just look at this forum. My wife has survived so far 2 years and 6 months since diagnosis and she is Stabe IV non-small cell. Let us know how we may support you. Don

  16. Happy birthday, TAnn! We know how precious each birthday is. And just in time for spring with the azaleas, redbud and fruit trees now in bloom in Houston. Celebrate! Don
  17. Thanks so much to all of you for your well wishes and continued support. Lucie was moved by the outpouring of greetings for her birthday. I was touched as well. We feel your caring and support. Lucie got to celebrate her birthday this past week four times. Saturday a week ago, we went out with another couple to dinner, and celebrated. Tuesday, which was her actual birthday, we two went out to dinner at the restaurant of her choice, and celebrated. Thursday, five ladies from church in a small group with her took her to lunch, and celebrated. Last night, Saturday, we went out with the family -- son and wife, two grandchildren, daughter and daughter-in-law's dad, and celebrated. I think we did it justice. She now has to rest up from all this activity! Take care and blessings. Don
  18. Okay, so I can't count. It is three plus years. Still a great milestone. Don
  19. The way I count it, Tiny, it's four years of survivorship! Congratulations! You are an inspiration. Celebrate the news! Don
  20. My wife had a bout of systemic staph infection right after starting her first round of chemo and radiation. Then a year and a half later, when on Iressa, she developed bilateral pneumonia. Both times she survived. So, yes, it is common. Don
  21. I agree with Ry's observation. My wife got bilateral pneumonia from Iressa, a cousin of Tarceva. Don
  22. I'm glad to see yo planning ahead, Beth. Good for you!
  23. Great news, Laurie! Happy birthday, Mom.
