    Prayers Please

    Prayers said. Blessings! Don
  2. Barb, love your sense of humor, and your hubby's! When my wife got out of the hospital from pneumonia two weeks ago, I realized her hat was packed in the bottom of the bag, and we were heading for a luncheon at church. I said I would unpack and get it, but she said, "Don't bother" and went with no head covering! It was then I knew she was well, and her attitude had improved. When she arrived at the luncheon, she got a rousing ovation. Don
  3. Trips and memories are good. Have a great trip. Don

Sounds like great news. Thanks for keeping us posted. Blessings. Don
  5. Glad they found out what was wrong and are treating him. My prayers are with you all. Don
  6. My wife has a wig, which is quite nice, but she says it is too hot, so she only wears it to church on Sunday. She started out wearing turbins and now her favorite is a floppy hat that is blue demin on one side and khaki denim on the other -- very versatile. She says as soon as her own hair is long enough, she will not wear anything on her head. Your wig looks very good. Don
  7. I believe the doctor has given you the correct possibilities. PET scan is not infallible for cancer -- other things can "light up". In mky wife's case, with bone mets, new bone growth can light up. Try not to worry ahead of time! Don
  8. I believe God puts people in our path for the mutual benefit of everyone. This is one of those times. I have prayed for them. Don

    Katie and Rick

Katie and Rick, we need you! Thanks for staying on. Don
  10. Tam, be careful that your husband doesn't get dehydrated, what with the throwing up. Be sure he gets enough liquids down. Sorry it is so rough on you both. Don
  11. Hi, Alan! Good pic. Lucie experienced some machine breakdowns during her different radiation sessions, too. I guess if it is mechanical, it will eventually have a problem. Keep posting. Don

    Prayers

I personally believe in "prayer without ceasing", asking God for particularls, and ready to accept what comes. Jesus in a parable tells of the woman who keeps pestering the local leader for a favor, and he finally gives in grants her request. Jesus' message is that we should not give up praying. This does not mean to me that if the request does not happen that we have not prayed hard or long enough, but that the answer is other than we envisioned. Praying is talking with God, so, in my book, we should continue the dialogue. God's blessings to you. Don
  13. Lucie had 5+ treatments of Taxotere with Carboplatin, and each treatment had worse side effects. She (and I) lived through it, and it worked. She is now in remission. Don
  14. Thanks for taking the time to give us an update on you, Connie. You are much loved here. May God be with you through all you have to go through, and I pray that all will be well. Don
  15. Sam, so sorry things have not been well. You get a big bear hug and my prayers for a better turn in the road. Don

    Judy B

    Prayers for Judy.
  17. Reminds me of the age old question from the wife, "Does this dress make me look too fat?" I think questions like that from females have influenced men to lie. Ha! Ha!
  18. David, sounds like great news to me! Celebrate! Don
  19. Ha! Ha! It makes me pucker, like a lemon!
  20. Susan, my prayers are with you. Is your mother on any pain medication? She shouldn't have to suffer severe pain. Don
  21. If I understand your note, your dad has had only one round of chemo. The side effects usually show up after several rounds. The effects vary with various people. Don
