I am praying that your scans are clear. Very sorry about your dad. Don
  2. Mary, welcome back. You are an inspiration to us all, with two years survivorship so far. I hope the treatment you are undegoing does the trick. Wishing you the best. Don
  3. When mky wife's legs start to swell, she takes a diuretic like Lasix, prescribed by the onc. and the pulm.
  4. I am no expert on Iressa -- you might want to check the info at www.fda.gov. I can say that my wife was on Iressa for four weeks before she got pneumonia, and in that time, she never was very strong. And it had been over a month since her chemo and radiation. Now that she is off Iressa, she is doing well. Of course, it could have been that the pneumonia coming on (which we think was due to the Iressa) kept her weak. Just info -- no conclusions for you. Don
  5. Cheryl, sounds like you are on a good road, and I wish you the best. Don
  6. My wife was given the choice of every week at lower dose or every third week at higher dose. We chose the latter to give her a break in each cycle, and she was able to tolerate the higher dose. I agree it depends on the chemo taken and the doctor. Don
  7. Hi, Tam Tam, and welcome to the board. Sorry your husband and yourself have to go through all this, especially at so young an age. Do you have any friends who can help you through this emotionally, and even to help out? It is good to develop a network support system, or you both will wear out fast. Keep connected here as there is much support and info. Don

  9. My heart is heavy at your sad news, Tanya. Your dad was quite a man, and he was so young to be taken by this disease. Thanks for letting us get to know him and you. Please stay connected so we may support you in any way we can. God's grace. Don
  10. When you have had cancer, there is no support like the person who has been there. I'm glad he was there for you, and sorry for your loss. Don

Hi, Becky! I did have heart bypass surgery in 1997 and my sternum was broken open and wired back, so I can appreciate what you are saying about that. I have had no trouble in that area since. Best to you. Don
