Dana, I am so sorry. I also lost my mom and well remember how painful these days are. You are all in my prayers. I miss your moms smiling face here, she looked, and from her posts you could tell, she is a very friendly, caring person.

Kelly, I also feel you should see about a feeding tube. My mom also had these problems, but she didn't want a feeding tube. We all can't help but wonder if we would have insisted she get one she might still be here today. Instead, even though she tried very hard to eat and drink enough, she got very dehydrated and very very sick. While she was in the hospital for that she slipped and fell and developed a hematoma on the brain, then needed brain surgery. Well she just never really recovered after that. You mom is in my prayers.

I hope you listened to the advice given and got an IV. Dehydration can turn serious very quickly please don't wait.

Is your mom eating and drinking enough? I ask because I think my mom went downhill fast because she wasn't eating or drinking enough.

My sisters FIL needed an antidepressant when he was on chemo and we felt my mom needed it though she declined it. I have heard it common. Talk to your doctor.

Frank, I don't post often here anymore, but I do stop by to check on some of you and you are one I always look to hear from. I have always admired you for your strength , your fighting spirit and your wonderful sense of humor. My prayers continue for you and your family.
