I giggled at Randy's post - from a NYer point of view, the Empire State Bldg, St. Patrick's and Ground Zero are each in TOTALLY different parts of the city (I love St. Patrick's, esp.) ...but I guess, technically, they are not THAT far apart. it just shows you how different things can look to a native versus a visitor. my office overlooks Times Square. I can meet you pretty much anywhere for lunch, or whatever, if you're up for it! do let me know the details. xoxo

mom had a spot of BAC show up in the summer of 2002, which never grew. it was too far in to biopsy without cracking her chest open, so we watched it - the SUV went up and down a bit on her PETs, but it never actually got bigger. another tumor, however, showed up in May of 2005 which was biopsiable (is that a word!?) and turned out to be the same NSCLC-BAC she'd had in 2000. after her pneumonectomy, both tumors were found to be cancerous, along with a handful of lymph nodes. so that's a long way of saying that it grows slowly. good luck, xoxo amie

sorry you're having this trouble. my mom has never had bone mets, but did really well on a pain drug call neurontin. good luck with this, I hope you get some relief.

I wasn't on the board when uncle doug was active, but I know Patkid is in touch with him from time to time. the last report was that he did, indeed, have progression of his cancer but I don't know how serious, or what the treatment plan was. maybe drop patkid a PM... I think of you often since the loss of jcawork. hope you're as well as can be expected.

well I have been a little slow on the uptake but have settled on November 11 for a NYC lung cancer walk, to benefit Lungevity and the LCSC. I will file for the permit for Central Park this week. since it's veterans day, I'd love to find a "grand marshall" for the walk who is a vet and an LC survivor, so if anyone knows someone who fits the bill let me know... yay!!! who's on my New York City team, then!!?!? xoxo bunny
