  1. Dear Betty, I agree with Hope, please post your wonderful success story here. Thank you.
  2. Welcome Heather. Sometimes I think the treatment is worse than the disease and other times I think, thank God we have treatments. This is a great site for support and knowledge.

Becky, Can you get the 'No Vacuuming' Dr. to write me a letter too. I think you should go back to teaching too. The mind plays too many tricks when idle.

    Lucie's Better!!!

What can I say Don - except that I am ecstatic for the two of you. Lucie can breath and you can pee, what else can a couple ask for. All kidding aside I am thrilled for you.
  14. Dear Cathy, Please know that I am praying for your Dad, you and your family. This is not an easy time.
  15. Dear Peg, You and Bill are way overdue for some good news. I pray that you will get it this week.
  16. My husband had 14 whole brain radiation treatments after he had surgery to remove a single brain tumer. Yes, he has some trouble with short term memory but not drastic. His concentration and balance seem to be the most affected. Why aren't the doctors considering other treatments? Have you gotten a second opinion? They seemed to have rushed her to hospice. Why? Oh, my husband is 61 and the doctors say they were taking this very agressive approach because he is young and healthy.

    Dreaded Scan Time

Dear Carleen, I am praying to see your post under 'Good News'. You and Keith need a big dose of good news.
  20. Haven't posted for awhile cause there is not much to post. Of course I follow up on all of my cyber friends here every day. It seems we have had too much bad news in the last few weeks. Come on doctors and researchers let's get moving. Earl is just shuffling along. Some days are good, some days not so good. Fatigue just will not seem to go away. His balance is crappe (that's French for crappy) He staggers a lot and shuffles his feet when he walks, which he does at snails pace. His concentration is the pits. His last chemo was 7/14. Am I expecting too much that he should be improving faster? A lot of the times it is like he is a different person, although sometimes he is the old Earl. Sometimes he appears to be off in another world even when you are sitting across the table from him. Is this from the whole brain radiation? the chemo? the surgeries? the psychological impact of this disease? We don't discuss the disease too much, he doesn't want to. He also doesn't ask the drs many, if any, questions. Somebody asked him last week if he was afraid (sensitive friend this guy). Earl answered emphatically NO - that he was cured of the lc. There probably are no answers. My heart just aches for him. He is a very, very smart and vital man and I hope that man is still lurking inside of him. Love, prayers and good wishes to all of my buddies.

  25. The 'Empty Headed' Club welcomes yet another new member. It is a wonderful club with wonderful members. Earl finished his wbr on 11/6/02 and had continued to be empty headed. Congratulations to your mother. Now let's get her into the 'Clean Lung' club.
