    Introduction

Marcia, My husband had his upper right lobe removed 12/3/02. He was in the hospital 5/6 days, don't remember. Two very important things: 1. Get the epidural 2. Get a pillow, or something, to use to hold against your incision when you cough or are riding in a car and you hit a pothole. My husband came home with the chest tube because he was still draining. It wasn't much fun but it was not horrible. Since my husband is statge IV, but NED now, what else he went through would really not apply to you. Sounds like your doctor caught it early which is the name of the game in having a cure. Good luck with your surgery. Ask me any other questions you have.

    Surgery Again

Dear Ada, You know where my thoughts are this morning. I am so glad that your spirits are up after meeting with the Pennsylvania doctors. They told Earl at 60 that he was young (he loved it) and that was in his favor in surviving the treatments and since, darnit, you are younger by far this will be a breeze for you. Fingers crossed, prayers heading up. Wish Pittsburgh were closer so I could come visit you.

  12. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. Shannon, please accept my deepest sympathy and know that you and your family will be in my prayers.
  13. Deb, I am so sorry about the news for your Dad. Try to stay positive especially with him, the game is not over until the fat lady sings and I have never heard anyone sing here.
  14. Dear Cindy, I was one of the people that posted "Where the HE-- is Cindy" Please, if your puter is down, get someone to update us, we worry. How is your leg? Retirement might be wonderful - time now to do all the things you just wished you had the time to do. WELCOME BACK!!!!!!
  15. Shannon, I sincerely hope that Mike is feeling better and that you can get to Tulsa. By the way, what are the 'grannies'?

    P.S.

Maybe Rick could create a poll area where members could post opinions and the rest of us wonderful people could vote on it. What you think guys and gals????
  17. I think, but I am not sure Marlon, that you have to be on SS disability for two years or be 65 to be eligible for Medicare. Medicaid is different I think and your financial status decides this. Again not sure.
  18. Mary, I have really never responded to your posts before, for some reason they make me horribly sad. Your sister is quite a woman. Hospitals, most are understaffed and undercaring for what I hear. We have been very lucky, all three hospitals my husband was in gave him excellent care in a timely manner. However, I was there constantly and was not afraid to go out and find a nurse and be DEMANDING. Every patient needs an advocate. I questioned everything they did, not because I knew the answers but because I wanted them to think twice about what they were doing. I have heard nothing but GOOD about hospice and most doctors will prescribe whatever hospice requests. They are also very helpful to the family. I wish you well and peace.
  19. Fresca, Earl welcomes your mother with great joy to the EMPTY HEADED CLUB

    Great CT Scan

Dave, I say you've scored a birdie. Let's get an eagle on the next scan. We need new words to the Tiny Bubbles song. Something like Tiny Tumors getting smaller every day.
  21. I love and appreciate all of your responses to my posts. 'Duke of' did drive to the customer's today (they are a good hour's drive away). When I asked how it went Mr. Funny said "Not bad, only forced one 18 wheeler off the road" HaHa He has his 2nd taxotere treatment on Monday so we expect a short term dip in how he feels. But this dip is well worth the price. I agree that every post to Good News is potentially good for all of us. Every day new and different treatments are being researched and tested. And each Good News can help the stats which may make some of these crepe hanger drs. become more optimistic. My sister had a major heart attack 13 months ago. Her primary says, oh you have a seriously damaged heart. Her cariologist says Yep you had a heart attack but I see no reason you won't live long enough to really drive your children crazy. Quiz: Which doctor is helping her live longer? (Hint - happy endorphins)
