  1. My husband was treated at Swedish Cancer Institue by Dr. Howard West. When he was diagnosed I called Allcase and they referred me to Dr. West saying he was the best oncologist in Western Washington. I know that Seattle would be a long drive, but maybe you could start there and he could refer you to someone in Olympia. Good luck and I hope the best for you and your mom. Annie
  2. Wow, David!! First place! You are amazing. The board needed a boost after all the losses lately and you sure did it! Congratulations.
  3. My deepest sympathy for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family.
  4. David, it's wonderful to see you posting again. Good luck in the race, I jsut watched the Mt. bike race on the Olympics and sure don't know how you do it!! I couldn't do that if I had 3 or 4 lungs!
  5. Jane, I use Bare Minerals too. Are you tapping the brush after you load it with powder. It shouldn't fly all over; maybe you're using too much. Try a very small amount, load the brush and tap the brush (I tap it against my sink and make a mess there) and apply. Then do it again if you need more. The first few times a used it I had waaayy too much on the brush and it would get on my clothes and everywhere.
  6. Cheryl, Tim had a kidney tumor, but it was also a primary tumor, not from his lungs. Can you see a urologist? If your doctor doesn't seem too interested, see if you can take your scans to a urologist, just for some peace of mind. Good Luck!
  7. Lillian, what a horrific experience. I glad you came through it and your home was spared. I didn't realize you were so close to the fires. Wow!
  8. Ginny, I'm so sorry for your loss and send my deepest condolences to you and your family. What a blessed man Earl was to have you as his caregiver. My prayers are with you and your family.
  9. Dede, I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am about David. It was so shocking and unexpected. But I'm glad you're here and hope you find come comfort from us.

I'm am shocked to hear this new. My deepest condolences to David's family.
  11. Hey everyone. I haven't posted for a while, but still come and read and pray for all of you. I like this post, so I thought I'd chime in. Anniemac is for Anne McIntire. Tim started calling me Annie when we were dating and for him it stuck. Most of my friends call me Annie, but most of my family still calls me just plain Anne. I was also know as Little Mac, since Tim's work buddies called him either Big Mac or Mac.
  12. Just wanted to check in with everyone and let you know that I'm doing OK, most of the time. I have been working part-time and now I'm ready to start full-time. I just returned from Southern California. Tim's mother passed away and I went down for her service and to visit family and friends. I had a good and fun time, even at the service, which was upbeat and a real celebration of a wonderful women. She was buried next to Tim and they share a headstone (room left for me too). Had a great visit with Tim's brother and sisters and the rest of the family and got to see the kids and my grand
  13. Bersia, I'm so sorry your dad lost his battle. Take comfort in the wonderful job you did to help him through his illness. My heart breaks for you.

    My Beloved

Peg, I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved husband passing. It breaks my heart each time we lose one of our family here. My prayers are with you and your family.
  15. Shellie, prayers going up now for you and your husband. I hope they get to the bottom of this before you lose your mind!
  16. Shirley, feel free to use the picture of Tim. Good luck!

Rick, I just sent you a picture of Tim. Thanks for the trubute, it's wonderful.
  18. Lillian, hey, I'm doing OK...most of the time. I sure do have some tough times and miss Tim more now than I did when he first passed. As you know, it takes a while to realize that it's really forever (at least until we join them). I'm working some and resting some and checking the boards when I'm strong enough. I think things are going fine and then I read about Becky and Judy B and others who are not doing well and it just breaks my heart and I sit and cry for an hour. I think we need a lot more good news!! I'm still staying with my brother and sister-in-law and that's a great comfort
  19. Good luck Karen! Everything I have is crosses for you. Oh...and some prayers are going out too.
  20. Your mom should be able to get a transfusion of platelets. My husband and I donated platelets every 2 weeks for about 10 years. Most of the time it was for people on chemo or someone getting an organ transplant. Good luck to your mom!
  21. Rosymac, my husband had this done and it help him quite a bit. They had removed his vocal cord during his lung surgery and his voice had become breathy and it was difficult to talk and cough. He would just run out of air too quickly. The surgery worked very well for him and his voice was much better. Good luck to you and Fred.
  22. Stephanine I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She was so wonderful to everyone on the board and always offered her support and humor to any of us in need. My prayers are with you and your family.
  23. Curtis, I am shocked and saddened by your news about Becky. She was a rock for us all and I can't stop the tears from flowing. My prayers are with you and your daughter.
  24. Peg, I'm so sorry to hear this news. I'll pray extra hard for you and Bill.
  25. Lillian, I'm doing OK. Just trying to deal...you know better than most how hard that can be. I took Tim's ashes to Southern CA for burial and I just flew back tonight; got to spend 8 days with my sisters. We had a beautiful service in Pasadena last Sunday and the burial was Sunday. There were over 100 people at the service, and it helps to know how many people loved Tim and are here to support me. I haven't had too much time to spend on the boards, so now I'm back and will be around more. Thanks for thinking of me. It means a lot.
