No decadron (leastwise that I can remember)!!!. Continue to do well Karen, my prayers remain with you all, God Bless Us All, Francine

    Update

Hi All, Mixed bag here. Two or so weeks ago i went in for results of my scans. At that time I was prepared to ask for doctor for some time out (completed 3 rounds of cisplatain and taxotere) as I just couldn't handle 24/7 nausea anymore. It turns out that the scan results were very good (tumours gone from medistanum (sp?) gone from brain as well as significant shrinkage in adrenal gland which he is perferectly happy to observe. The only question mark remains the top of my spine where they think they've beaten that back. Bone Scan coming up. More good news...After what seemed like a lifetime I finally had a full week of NO NAUSEA and was never so grateful for anything in my life. Bad news : its back and i'm really really down about that. Not to mention that appetite is nonexistent ( I mean I can't even get it as far as my mouth without gagging.) I am trying very hard not to worry about my spine but my pain management consultant is just now weaning me off gabapentin and the pain that was there before caused by the tumour is returning.. One other thing..i have progressively gotten more and more deaf (especially on one side) and they have set up appointment for me. Seems that is a by product of cisplatain. As I said..a real mixed bag. Will post when bone scan and results of other tests are in. Tell then, take care of yourselves and enjoy the nice weather coming our way at last God Bless us All, Francine
  10. Dear Close, I had the WORSE nausea imaginable. Nothing worked at all for me, not after 3 months of trying until 2 weeks ago. I started two new things then (l) started to go to acpuncture and 2) taking zanax 2-3 times a day. I can hardly believe it but I sure am enjoying it. Here's hoping you find something just for you. Good Luck. Francine God Bless us All
  11. Welcome back Ry!! You were sorely missed. God Bless Us All Francine

Dear Dean, Thank you for sharing your private thoughts with us. You are such as inspiration to me even tho i haven't had the courage to seriously consider YOUR way, I admire you for that ability. 16. Deanna, Doctor proscribed neupegen for low white blood count and eprex (epoetin alfa ) for low red blood cells. Hope it helps God Bless us All Francine
  17. Hi Cathy: Sorry to hear about the treatment not working. I am presently taking taxotere and am told its a very powerful chemo. After my third session, i had nothing left in the head or the mediastinum area and only a very small one in right adrenal gland. I lost my hair after radiation, in other words gone before I even started chemo. My doctor listed the following possible side effects of taxotere before we started. They are as follows: achy hard on blood (lowers red blood cells) lowers white blood cells, so risk of infection diarhea Good luck Cathy whatever you decide Francine

    Lucie's Trip

WOW!!! You are a very lucky man. Lucy is one tough lady
  19. Hi Paddy.. I did 3 rounds of cisplatin/taxotere and although I had an advserse reaction after my first session, the taxotere was adjusted and it was okay. I had already lost alll my hair from radiation but did suffer from nausea. That is by far my chief complaint. But u know Paddy, it worked and that's what counts in the end. Here's hoping you get similar results. GoD Bless us All Francine
  20. Berissa, Give it over to God right now...let him carry you and your father through this. He loves you both and will be there for you. Francine
  21. Mo... Tons and tons of prayers going your way. Dear God, have a special look over MO, grant her her heart's wishes. Francine
  22. Hi Karen, I can speak only for mysef. When they discovered two small tumours to the brain the approach was to undergo 10 sessions of WBRand that was really preventative in nature i.e. get anything there they could not spot, followed by radiatactic surgery and that was to zap the two they did find. And it worked!! For your infor. Good luck with whatever you choose. Just know that either they, they can be eradicated. God Bless us All.. Francine
  23. Hi Peg, I'm so sorry to hear about Bill's nausea. As you might have read from my posts, this has been a big problem for me for the past 2 months of so. Zofran, Decradon, Stemtil countless other medications haven't helped and am in a bad way. The reason for my post Peg is simply to let you know I understand what u and Bill are going through and if I should be so lucky as to come across something that works, YOU will be the first to know. Praying very very hard for Bill.. God Bless us All, Francine
  24. Dear Peg and Bill, What an ordeal you both are undergoing and what courage in the fact of such advsersity. Please don't stop believing in mircacles. One might be just around the corner. God Bless Us All, Francine
