    counselor

Bucky; I hope the therapy helps you find a way to start feeling good again. I have had the same problem. After 4 years of dealing with the lc, I started having anxiety and depression. I have never seen a counselor, but 20 mg of lexapro a day and one xanax in the evening help. It is pretty much under control now. Don M

  7. I think the PA may have been out of line. It is not unheard of to have surgery for stage 4 cancer if there is good reponse to chemo and the only met is at the adrenal.

  16. I have been trying to beat this disease for over 4 years. I have fairly good insurance. But as far as loosing my house, I would not go that far. I want to leave something for my survivors. I have already made a pretty good run at it and my options are running low. I guess I have been fortunate so far in my costs. I had big out of pocket costs the year before last, but I was able to cover that with a retirement lump sum. Right now I am on tarceva, which seems to be working, and my copay is $30 a months because it is considered a retail pharmacy drug. If I were to do taxoxtere, my copay would be 30%. I’m not sure, but I suppose the chemo costs about $4000 or $5000 a month…maybe less. Don M
  17. Hi Liza. You and your dad have my prayers. Maybe it is best that he be at home. I don't know what kind of treatment is available in the Philippines, but I think lung cancer can be treated in most cases. Tarceva is a possibility. I think you should visit Dr. West's site and post on the message board there. He may know something about treatment in the Philippines. http://onctalk.com/ Don M
