Wow David I was just wondering how you are, since I thought you were pretty sick at the time of your gathering at RY's. I know I rarely post on this part of the board, usually on nsclc part. We live in Flushing which is right up the road if I understand correctly. Anyhow, you have been in our prayers. We'll continue. So sorry your doggie is in rough shape too. xxoo
  6. Peggy, Thanks so very much for sharing that info. It makes me feel a little better equipped to understand what may happen with Bob's treatment if this is indeed a tumor on his spine or a met to bone. Thanks again and glad you had such a good appt. xxoo
  7. You are so right, Bill. We have been battling doctors minimizing our friend Bob's pain for several weeks now. It's a shame this happens. Praying for you and your wife. xxoo
  8. Glad you got to fish and visit, Jim and glad you are home safe.
  9. Well , I am sure a lot concerned. The primary doc finally read the MRI from last week, the one they took of the lower lumbar region. He called this morning and said a. It shows either an inflamed fractured disc b. or a tumor pressing inward ( Bob has has terrible constipation and abdominal swelling. He will be getting a bone scan Thurs. a.m. and we truly hope it will be read sooner than the MRI was. The doc apologized to Bob and Jo about how long it took to get to the place where they realize something is going on with the bone. Also, he had been scheduled for an ultrasound and biopsy of the prostate due to the 9.5 PSA, but as John posted in another thread, those are not so accurate, and the doc feels he needs to forget that for now and look at the bone situation. He had wanted him to have a colonoscopy too if you can believe it, grasping at straws we think, but he canceled that today as well. so we are wondering what the bone scans purpose is. Shouldn't the MRI have been clearer as to whether there is a break or a tumor or both? Is the bone scan like a biopsy? Gosh this is such a monster disease. The doc told Bob and Jo to cancel the 2 week camping vacation we take to MI UP on the lake every year. We were going the last of this month, and he is sooo sad about that. I wondered if that would have to be skipped. Any exp. with this stuff is sure appreciated. Praying for a pain free restful night for everyone. xxoo
  10. Thanks for the info, see new post for update on Bob's condition. I will go to that link and read. Thanks again.
  11. Ginny, Thank you for the update. I can't imagine how hard some of these days must be. I too am glad Earl is comfortable and am keeping you both in my prayers. xxoo
  12. Gosh, I cannot believe how docs can say.. ok in 3 weeks... I agree, call the oncologist in the morning. Praying for the pain to ease and for a good rest tonight for both of you.
  13. Bob is having an ultrasound and biopsy in a week, wondering if it ever mets there. His PSA was 9.5. Thanks xxoo
  14. So sorry you are feeling so yukky, Ray. Praying like everyone else for your quality of life to go up again right away, and for wisdom for the docs, always!
  15. for our board. I know I have not been here long, but I find myself thinking of you all , all the time and praying for relief from this dreadful disease. I just wanted to say my heart is aching for our departed loved ones families, and sending my love to all of you. We are going to Bob and Jo's this afternoon, and I feel like I want to treasure our moments today. Its days like this that help me to remember how precious people are in our lives and how little anything else matters. God Bless all of you and may you have a good day today. Love, Nell

  19. Hi Friends, Doc office called Bob today and told him his PSA was 9.5, and they want an ultra sound and probably a biopsy.. IN NINE DAYS! His wife sent an email to their doc today and chronicled all they have been through with this pain and all in the last 6 weeks, and is hoping they will move up the tests. Will let you know what happens. Don't even know if nsclc mets to protate. xxoo
  20. Tess, you have been in my prayers and on my mind for days! How are things there? love,

    mets?

Tami, Please go and get this checked. I know how hard our friend has had to work to get his pain diagnosed, and how long it has taken, so please dont delay. I'll be praying for you too.
  23. He finally went for his MRI last night and they only did his lower back, which is not really where this awful pain is. It's in his pelvis area and upper legs. The pain is not changing much even with meds. I can't believe they did the lower spine only. I imagine it will not show anything and then what??? Poor guy. I wish I could call his gp and insist on more imaging! He won't let me of course We probably won't even hear anything from the MRI till Monday. Sometimes it seems as though it takes forever to get help. Hope you are all having a pain free and peaceful day. xxoo Praying for all.
  24. Bob will have an MRI on Tuesday, sheesh, I guess he just tolerates the pain without much help till then. Sure am praying they can see what's going on then. We will be spending the evening with him tonight, just hoping to give him a little distraction. His primary doc gave him Vicodin for the pain which basically makes him sleepy and sometimes takes the edge off. It is a gorgeous day here in MI and he is on his back porch for as long as he can be comfy. Hope everyone is having a good day xxoo
