  1. Shelly, Keep your head up. You need to stay strong for Dad. Hope all is ok after the onc. appt. Let us know Jamie
  2. After my Dad quit for good (In Jan.-one month prior to dx), he was coughing like crazy. He called the doctor, and the nurse told him he was probably "cleaning out his system". He had all sorts of stuff coming up and the nurse said it was probably bits of tar and toxins stuck in his throat and lungs, airway ect.. that were finally breaking loose. Hoping this helps, and also hoping its nothing... Jamie
  3. Curtis, Sounds like your on the road to healing. Your little girl is adorable. With 3 kids myself, I know why you would be worried about her and the transition, but one thing ive learned is that kids always bounce back. And alot quicker than adults too. I dont think God lets them stay sad or angry for very long...after all your only a kid once. Post when your all setteled in., we love hearing from you Jamie
  4. Heather, I often wonder if any dr.'s come and view our site. If they dont I think they should... From my own expierence, I feel dr.s are just plainly "not aware" of how their comments or additudes come off to patients. I also wonder if sometimes we as patients and caregivers look to much into what or rather "how" they are saying something. My dad met with his surgeon last week, and really nothing he said bothered him...just the way he said it. I dont know if this is the greatest thing to do but... my Dad is very outspoken, and plans to go to the surgeon and tell him personally what he thinks about this guys additude. Not rudely, just said he wonders if hes aware of how he comes off to patients. I wouldnt be scared if I were you. You seem to be doing GREAT! Just a few thoughts Jamie
  5. Margaret, Good for you have a ball!!!!! Jamie

Do you guys have family there? Ive never been out of the country, rarley leave the state for that matter, but in a beautiful city like Chicago, do you really have to?? Have a fun safe trip, we'll all be here waiting for a pic! Jamie
  8. Hi there, If you are scared, youve definitly come to the right place.... When my dad found out he had a HUGE tumor (size of a grapefruit!) on his lung... before he was even dx'd with LC, I came here. Scared out of my wits and really unsure of what to think of all this. Everyone helped me tremendously. I urge you to read everyones posts, and talk to your doctors. There is always hope in any case. Until you really find out what is going on, try to stay off the internet (except this site)...cause I did that, and I had myself in a crazy state for nothing. Please let us know whats going on when you find out... we'd love to hear from you. Good luck and best wishes... Jamie
  9. Faylene, Thanks so much for the info. Noone really knew what I was talking about, probably cause I didnt know what it was called. Chloesmom mentioned the test you did too, and she went to the same surgeon as were looking into, so im guessing that it is the right one. Thanks again for the info...I knew someone would have it for me here!!! Thanks for the good wishes, Ill be posting an update later today to let everyone know how the biopsy went. Wish I could get results today too, but guess thats not gonna happen. Oh well, Ill have to play the waiting game like everyone else! Thanks Again, Jamie

  19. OK guys, Im also gonna post this in the Test time board... Quick update, my Dad's CT came back clean...so ahead with the biopsy tomorrow!!! . Hopefully, it will come back clean too, and then after that we have a scheduled "breathing test?" . Anyone know what kind of test this is?? Im not sure of the actual name, the surgeon didnt really want to get into it until (and IF) everything came back clean Hope we get the results from the biopsy soon, because if it is clean then surgery is a GO!
