Well here we go again my hubby has active cancer in his chest, and he has a blood clot in his Superior Vena Cava.

They will start chemo again on thursday of this week,we know they will use Cisplatin but we do not know how many cycles he will have.

With this disease it never ends like the radiation onco said today"You're fighting a battle on many fronts"

Sorry to hear this news but it seems that you have an oncologist who is ready and willing to keep fighting. That's the great part! I'm keeping both of you in my prayers.

Karen,

Yes, we all seem to be fighting on many fronts all the time, don't we? I am so saddened by this latest turn of events. Hope that knowing you remain in my thoughts and prayers will somehow help. The prayers will be that the treatment beginning on Thursday will produce positive results.

Sorry to hear you have more fighting to do.It seems often times even when you feel like you have made significant progress it keeps coming back and biting us in the butt.

Hoping the oncs will have a treatment up their sleeve that will work well.

Wow. This is tough, no doubt about it. But sclc is very responsive to radiation, and with so many brain mets, WBR is about the only choice. My mom did quite well with it.

Prayers that this will only be a bump on a very long (and much smoother) road.
