Ann Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Did you vote in the primary elections or just wait and vote in the general election? Do you vote for a candidate based on his campaign platform or do you vote strictly by party lines? Quote
dchurchi Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 If there is an election Alan and I are voting. Alan always votes absentee as we never know how good he will be feeling and I enjoy going to my polling place. We both are Party liners. Quote
Ann Posted September 15, 2006 Author Posted September 15, 2006 I always vote...rain or shine. I was always taught that voting is a privilige that our forefathers fought for and that we should always honor them and their courage by voting. I always try and do my homework on candidates before voting. I usually vote straight party lines but I have been known to cross over a couple of times if the candidate is really a really good one. Ry Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 This past primary we were on vacation so we couldn't vote. Usually we vote them all. Because I run a business dependent on tax dollars -- I vote for candidates that I feel support what I do and will appropriate money towards the disabled. Quote
dadstimeon Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 We don't vote in the primary, we are independent, vote for the best possible candidate. Quote
luvmydog2 Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I vote in all elections. I vote for the candidate on their platform not their party. Quote
Muriel Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I vote in most primaries. I pretty much follow the party line as it matches my values. As we know, pre-election promises really don't mean anything. Also, this was my first time to vote in FL and I have little confidence in the system in this state. Muriel Quote
ginnyde Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I vote in every election. I don't always vote for everything on the ballot unless I have some knowledge of the person or topic. While I tend to vote more for one party, I do cross party lines based on the candidates stand on topics of importance to me. I believe that voting gives me a free pass to complain or compliment, or complement, forget which is right. I get annoyed at my children when they tell me they did not vote. Quote
ztweb Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 We vote, vote, vote. We always figure if we vote, we have a right to gripe! Politics are HUGE, HUGE, HUGE here in our small state! I am an issue voter...particularly education! Quote
missyk Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Ohhhhhhh I love voting!! LOL I'm indepenedent, also, so I vote the best possible candidate. Quote
RandyW Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I always vote and sometimes if the need arises and there is no one I like I do a write in. We have problems in this state sometimes with certain independents getting on Ballot. Have to write in independents occasionally. Quote
kamataca Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Yep...I vote on almost every available occasion, and I take the kids with me each time. I'm a big believer in the "no vote/no gripe" motto, and I love to gripe! Kelly Quote
Linda661 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 I vote all elections, including our recent primary. Now, what really rots in my state is that you have to declare a party line to vote party candidates in a primary election -- that came about around a year or so ago in my state and I absolutely hate that.....I am non-partisan, because I prefer to vote for the best candidate based on what they stand for, not what party they belong to!!!!!! That meant this year, I didn't get to vote for alot of candidates I really like across both parties in our primary -- I could only vote a non-partisan ballot and that wasn't on much!!!!!! Linda Quote
Larry Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Well i usually end up voting a straight ticket but like some one else has said i've been known to cross over. As for issue's i try to Vote for the Pro Life candidate no matter which party he stand's for as my life's experiences have shown that those who respect and support life as a rule are normally much more MORAL in all thing's......
