This is my sister-in-laws dad. He and Mike have been fighting together, but Richard lost his battle.

Richard A. Starkey, 56 ,of Zanesville died at 1:46 PM, Saturday, June 9, 2007 at James Cancer Center Of Ohio State Univ. in Columbus following a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on Sunday, August 20, 1950, in Newark the son of Harold A. & Erna (Sandman) Starkey. He was a mould maker for Anchor Glass and had been employed there since the age of 18. He was a member of Northside Church Of The Nazarene, American Flint & Glass Workers Union Local #121 and American Motorcycle Association. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, riding motorcycles and playing softball. He is survived by his wife Dixie D. (Pritt) Starkey of the home who he married on Saturday Feb. 14, 1976; his children Melissa (Ron) Miller, Jeremy (Jennifer) Starkey both of Zanesville; Grandchildren: Colt , Dalton , and Quinton Miller, Amber and Chance Starkey; A brother: Donald (Cathy) Starkey of Zanesville; A sister Helena (Dan) Archer of Hopewell; Uncles Carl Sandman and Dean Wise; Be loved mother-in-law Velva Pritt, several close Nieces, Nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law; & his faithful pet dog Taz. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his Aunts Mary Wise and Linda Sandman. Friends may call Tuesday June 12th from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 1:00 PM with Rev. James A. Miller officiting. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park, in Zanesville, OH
