Janet B
Well - my doctor managed to convince the insurance company that I needed a PET scan so I had my PET and MRI this week and .....Still NED!! God is good! I am around for another spring and to see my oldest graduate from college in a few weeks! Didn't think that was possible a year ago! recce101
Wow, that's great, Janet! I looked through your profile again and didn't see any "traditional" chemo mentioned, just radiation, then you started Tarceva in February 2007. Is that right? Aloha, Ned

Janet B
Ned - No, I never had "traditional" chemo. Because I was a never smoker they tested me for something called Deletion 19 mutation, which responds especially well to Tarceva as a first line treatment. My first oncologist did not want to test for it, but my 2nd and 3rd opinion both agreed that it should be tested for and that if I had it Tarceva as a first line would be the way to go. I seems they were right! Have to love those 2nd opinions!
