Posted May 7, 2004 Share Posted May 7, 2004 If you break off a leaf with a bit of the stem from an African Violet plant, then stick the stem end of the leaf into a small, dirt filled flower pot, give it the right amount of light and water, you will grow a new African Violet plant. It takes about a year for the plant to grow and reach the size where it will flower. This year I found one perfect, pink flowered African Violet, with dark green, velvet like leaves..... It will look wonderful next year if I can group 10 of them together. So I've taken 10 leaves and started 10 new plants... I intend to be here next year at this time to see them in flower. And from what I know of you you are tough too, so I am betting you will grow 10 lovely flowering violets and will be here to see them bloom.
