continuing in prayer for all of you to get through the wedding in a marvelous way. pammie
  14. asked the first doc why i had more pain after the first chemo treatment than before i knew i had cancer. he said, the cancer could be growing, or it could be shrinking or the tube they put in my chest to drain the pleural fluid could have caused scar tissue. So the docs don't know the answers. Some times when there is an injury to the skin though, the itching and pain as it heals is bothersome. perhaps the same idea for this. praying for you to feel better. pammie.
  15. Hang in their Nancy and hubbie. The gift of him being at your daughters wedding will be priceless for her. Keep up the fight. praying for you. pammie
  16. Glad you are on the website. Make sure you ask your onc about the side effects being expperienced. Communication with the doc is very important. if the doc doesn't address the issues you ask about get another if possible. There are lots of us out here leading normal or seminormal lives. Your DH is not the only person experiencing the disease of cancer. There are many groups that can help you and your local hospital probably has a group of cancer supporters who could give you and him some great encouragement. It is a shock to find out you have cancer, but it can be dealt with in a positive way. praying for you both.pammie
  17. Melanie, so appreciate your attitude. I too have four children but am 10 yrs. older than you so mine are all grown. You are right. We only live one day, really one minute at a time. God gives us this life as a prepartion time to get ready for eternity. Sounds like you are doing a great job and not giving up hope for more time here. My goal is to see some of my grandkids. Don't have any and none on the way but I do have something to look forward to that gives me motivation to fight for each minute, day or year. God has blessed us so much already and continues to do so. Will be praying for you to do well with the WBR. love pammie
  18. Hey Dee, I can only echo what the others have said. Always be positive and optimistic about yourself and in dealing with the cancer. i think it has taken me until now and (maybe not even yet) to get over the shock of hearing "you have cancer." My husband asked our doc if he had any patients that were still living with the malignant pleural effusion that I was diagnosed with. the doc said none. My husband said, "We want to be the first survivors." So there is our fight and it is OUR fight, not my fight. I could not do this without my husband. He has a wonderful positive attitude that I feed myself from when the negative thoughts and feelings hit me. So glad you found the web site and look forward to keeping up with you. pammie
  19. What a blessing that it is TB instead of cancer. Praise the Lord. pammie

  21. So very thankful for your good news. pammie
  22. happy 43rd b-day. Praise the Lord for the gift of another year. I love the pic of you with your son's arm around you. it is what I call a "treasure picture." What sweet emotions and memories it must bring for you both. Treasure each day as a gift, TAnn. praying that you will reach 44 next year. pammie
  23. Jen, the docs just don't know everything. they are humans and make plenty of mistakes like the rest of us. I just don't want them to make their mistakes on me!! Hang in there girl. YOu are doing well to have the NED in your lung. Thanks so much for your positive out look. What are the pros and cons of keeping your ovaries? You might want to consider your answers to that. there has never been a primary tumor diagnosis for me but the colon and ovary tumor makers were high for a while, now to normal. Where did the lung cancer come from? Don't think we will ever really know. You may never know also. I love your family pic. I have four children, 21 to 26 in ages. You make me think of us but your kids are younger. God is very gracious to us and we are saying all the good news is from Him working in my body. will be praying for you. Keep the positive outlook. pammie
  24. Started Iressa in January of 2005. the tumor markers in the blood tests continue to get better and better. Question: Have any of you had good tumor marker tests but the cancer was spreading or getting worse? The doc told us that sometimes the tumor markers are not a good indicator of the progression of the disease. Perhaps he said that to make sure we stayed in touch with reality. Just wondering what the experiences of others were. Thanks for the info. pammie
  25. Carrie, what a blessing from God that you got through the gamma well! Now praying for complete recovery for you. pammie
