    Amie2000

Sorry Andrea, we need to keep Aimie in New York. Aimie, I'm so happy to have met you. You're just a gem who knows how to give. Congrats on 2000! Joan
  3. Just a suggestion so that as many people as possible can attend. I don't know where a lot of these towns or cities are, but hopefully they are near a major city that can be reached with one flight. I certainly would love to travel to wherever, but within reason.
  4. Just want you to know what a great idea this is. Being it will probably be mid USA, I don't think I can be of much help, but please let me know if I can. Anyway, can't wait. Joan
  5. I definitely see a difference. In today's Newsday there is a half page advertisement for an "Early Lung Cancer Diagnostic Test". Never saw that before! Joan
  6. What great news!! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!! Joan
  7. Hi Tom, Welcome to the site and have to say, you do have a beautiful family. I know how hard the initial diagnosis is, having gone through it only last year. Having a supportive family will make things a lot easier for you. This is not a time to panic, as there are lots that can be done now, even for the furthest along. I am a New York Sloan Kettering patient. I wouldn't say they are aggressive, but would definitely say they are cutting edge. They totally know anything and everything that is new and I've been extremely happy with my treatment. If I can be of any help at all, either with questions or doctors, please pm me. Wishing you and your family the best. Joan
  8. Leslie, I'm so sorry to hear such sad news. Your sister is so young, but her youth can work in her favor in fighting this terrible disease. There are lots the doctors can do today, including clinical trials. Try explaining to your sister that this is not a death sentence and that her attitude will help or hurt her. There are many cases of stage IV patients living a long long time. It is important for her not to give up. Wishing you both the best and hope we can help you in your fight. Joan
  9. Hi Pam, Welcome and I'm looking forward to getting to know you. I'm also stage IV, (and doing great) so if you have any questions I can help with, just shout or pm me. Joan

    Update on Ken

Karen, I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. I can only send my prayers to you both. Joan
  18. I had United Health Care which was fabulous, but switched to my husband's Blue Cross/Blue Shield because they totally covered my doctor and hospital as a primary. You definitely need to get insurance before you are sick, and laws vary from state to state as to who can be covered. You should contact either your employer or an insurance agent if you aren't employed to see what the laws are where you live. Joan
  19. What I'm hearing today is that her cancer was caused by Radon, which to me sounds bizzar, since how could that even be determined?
  20. Sue, My sincere condolences to you and your family. I am really so sorry to hear this terrible news. Joan
  21. Exactly where will your booth be? I'd love to come by and say hello. Joan
  22. Gracie, Welcome, but sorry you needed to find us. There is hope and we're all here for you. Joan
  23. Hi Elise, My neuropathy started a few months after I finished chemo. I didn't want to take any more meds, so I deal with it. It seems to be worse at night. My doctor did tell me that sometimes it goes away on its own. Hopefully it will at least get better for your mom. Joan
  24. My daughter just called to tell me this devestating news. I am beyond words............. Joan
