  1. Don, Aren't babies just the best!!! Congratulations!!! Pretty name too. Joan
  2. Pat, First of all, welcome. I have to say, I certainly agree with Kasey. Make sure they need to take out your lobe, before they do. This is not a walk in the park. Hopefully, if it is cancer and operable, you are very lucky. But, I would certainly make sure of that first. I do wish you luck. Joan
  3. Teri, I'd like to add a few more wishes for you to have no pain and lots more time with your family. I'm so glad to hear you're getting around and feeling ok. Thinking of you. Joan

    Porta Cath.

I don't have one, but would love to hear from some of the women. (only because I like to wear low cut tops). My veins are just about shot. Thanks for posting this Tina. Joan
  5. Congratulations!!!! What's better than this? Pic is amazing. Joan
  6. Im very sorry. My condolences to you and your family. Joan
  7. Stephanie, I'm so sorry you had to be hit from all sides at once. Just having a LC diagnosis is enough to send anyone into a tailspin. But with your own dx, I just really feel the pain your going through. You do need to feel there is hope though. I also have a best friend who is my daughter (age 27), getting married next month. My son's wife just gave birth (3 weeks ago), to my first grandchild. Just like you, they decided not to wait for that baby. And believe me, it was the best gift they could have given me. Even though I'm also stage IV, I have to say this last year has been one of the best in my life. I know that sounds pretty weird, but in certain ways, it's true. My dx has enabled me to spend the time with my loved ones that I wouldn't have otherwise and to enjoy each and every second of every day. Medicine has also come a long way and every day they are coming a little bit closer, even if only by prolonging our lives. So, don't dispair, even with your dx. Enjoy every day and just make sure you get the proper care for your mom and yourself. Second opinions are really important. Well, I think I've rattled on enough. Best wishes and welcome. Joan
  8. Thanks, I would have had that in a minute. It sounds so good. Joan
  9. Hi Tom, So much great advice, all that's left is for me to wish you the very best of luck. You do have the best attitude which will surely help you through this. It wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be. Just (another) to be sure to keep up on the liquids & eating, especially the drinking. All the best. Joan
  10. Love It!!!!! Have the very best time. Joan
  11. Hi Jim, I don't know how old you are, but I remember the actor Steve McQueen, who had lung cancer, going to Mexico for some kind of apricot pit therapy. And even more recently, I don't remember who, but some celebrity also tried it. Didn't work for either, but would love to hear some positive outcomes. Joan
  12. Hi Trish, I'm really happy to hear how well Jeffrey is doing. I've been watching and waiting for your post. Your story is definitely inspirational to lots of people and I am just praying for Jeffrey to have continued success against this grusome disease. We've just got to keep on going and keep on going and keep on going. Joan
  13. Hi Pammie, Wow, such good news. Nothing like a grandbaby! We can compare baby stories, as I'm also a newbie. What's his name? Best wishes, Joan
  14. I worry about both of you daily. I'm praying this will stop Keith's pain and let his tired liver recoup. Best, best, best wishes, Joan
  15. Rich, You are my poster boy, my inspiration!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS Joan
  16. Maybe if you can explain to your mom that when she had breast cancer, she needed to go to a breast cancer doctor, she will understand that now she needs a lung cancer doctor. There is so much doctors are doing today. This is not a death sentence. I hope she'll try with a second opinion, but if not, we're here for you either way. Wishing you both the best. Joan
  17. Carleen, I think of the two of you every day. Praying for some good news. Joan
  18. Jim, Another WOW!!!! I'm so happy to hear such wonderful news. Joan
  19. Congratulations!! What a beautiful family. Joan
  20. Teri, Many, many prayers to you and your family. You are amazing and hopefully you'll be able to enjoy many pain free days ahead. This just makes me sooooo angry and sad. Joan
  21. Just want to wish your mom the very best. She's certainly a fighter which is wonderful. Joan

    My CT scan

Kathy, CONGRATS The best news!!!!! Joan
  23. After having my 3 month CT scan which was stable, I was still experiencing shoulder pain. I was sent for an MRI of the shoulder that was NED, except for some arthritic changes. "I'm officially old". Joan
  24. Hi Mel, I was diagnosed because of back pain. I'm on a very low dose of pain meds and didn't have radiation. The chemo did a great job for my pain. Everyone is different and reacts differently. The main thing to remember is that this is not a hopeless situation, even if indeed it has spread to her bones. Wishing you both the best. Joan
  25. Lori, That's the way to do it!!!!! Remember, she couldn't have done it without you. Joan
