This one was hard for me, so I am picking 2. My honeymoon with Alan in Maui was my best vacation in the past 15 years. Prior to that my month long trek all over Europe in 1982. Backpacked with my girlfriends loaded with our youth hostel cards and a Thomas Cook guide to keep track of all the trains. I was young and didn't have a care in the world.

Although Alan did not have mets to the bone, his last lymph node growth grew into the nevers in his shoulder. he was in very bad pain. Once radiaiton started I belive he was pain free in about 10 days. So I think is relief came fairly quickly, again he did not have mets to the bone. I hope your Mom has good results.

Hi Barb, My husband has been battling Small cell lung cancer for about 2.5 years now. he went from 218 at diagnosis down to 155 in about 3 months. Alan has never gotten back to above 175 and at this time weighs 165. So as you can see loosing weight does not mean the end. Alan has been in and out of treatment for these past few years and everytime he undergoes treatment his appittite suffers. It eventually comes back about a month after treatment ends. I hope everything works out for your Dad.

Hi Mary Colleen, My husband Alan had WBR 2 years ago. The effects of the radiation do take some time to get over. I would say it was a good 8-10 weeks before Alan fully recovered. Alan has had primarily radiation treatments and the recovery time has been about the same for each. Prayers for both you and your husband

Hi Aaron, If you think for a second you may have brain met, call your Dr and get an MRI. Better to have MRI and know everything is fine, than not having one and there be even a small met that could grow. Alan had 1 brain met that was treated with WBR and them IMRT treatments and has had clear scans ever since (2 years now). Please keep us posted and you continue to be in our prayers.

Alan is the same way. Everytime we go to his Drs he gives the same standard answer "I'm fine". Thankfully they all then ask me how he is "Really" doing and then the list begins.

I would love to hit the 4 men who cooked the books of my old company. Their greed cost some 9000 people their jobs and crumbled an entire industry.

Like Ry, for me it is NEVER I hate the grocery store. Alan used to do all the shopping, but now I do the dreaded deed. So there is no preferred time.

My Dear Friend Teri, the words I try and come up with seem so insignificant. I hope you find some comfort in knowing your beloved is no longer in pain. I will pray that God wraps his loving arms around you to help you through this difficult time. (((Teri)))

Love it, in fact going tomorrow night for some. I have to go with friends though as Alan will not touch the stuff!!!

I paid $300.00 to see the N.J Devils play the Ducks in the Stanley Cup Finals a few years ago. I am a huge Devils fan so to be able to see them here in California was an opportunity I could not pass up. The Devils lost in O.T.

Only one thing I have an entire spare bedroom that has become our "storage" area
